Haven't been into plugins lately but I'm going to give this a try. I don't have any vari-mu emu's. That GUI is sexy.....

Been using it this morning and it's a great compressor. Tons of punch. Great dynamic control and a very nice "tone" in all three modes. A very obvious sounding compressor if that's what you need.I just added a beautiful punch to a snare, nice warm compression/distortion on cymbals and locked down the bass and it made the track sound better. I never got much use out of their other plugs but I'm really liking this one!

I like the way he does it. A free version for first impressions.
And yeah the pricing makes things very relaxing. Some plugs are way to expensive for what they do, and this company serves me right.
Lately I recognized he is from my region here in Berlin.
Lets see how this one sounds...

I have the other Klanghelm comp and like it--although its options can be a bit dizzying. This one looks a bit simpler. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for feedback. With companies like Klanghelm and Overtone providing such reasonably priced software I'm beginning to wonder how some of the bigger software companies can continue to charge so much for their plugins. I think Hofa and Exponential are worth every penny. But should I really pay over $300 for a tube tech compressor from Softube? Ouch. I use this pultec plugin all the time and love it. $35. www.overtonedsp.co.uk/download/download_ptc_2a/index.html

After working with it for a couple of days I feel that this is the best soft comp I've used. Excellent sound shaping ability and usability.

Wow...just tried the free version out in Logic on my laptop...and it's awesome! Can't wait to try this on drum bus with the HPF.

After working with it for a couple of days I feel that this is the best soft comp I've used. Excellent sound shaping ability and usability. Man - that's not over-stating either. It's definitely a color thing...it ain't clean. The ability to dial in the saturation is fantastic. And all three compressors have different flavors.

MJUC looks like 3 different comps too? That right? All 3 for $27?

Yeah - by the looks of the GUI, they look like RCA, Altec and Gates...Don't know if they are spot on, but this is one hell of a plugin. I much preferred it on bass in comparison to the UAD LA2A's...of course, those are opto...but do yourself a favor and check this thing out.

Really love how you can use it on drum bus with the HPF - really bring the room sound out and sustain on the snare without choking the kick. Or pounding the crap out of it and then pulling the mix knob down. Really cool.

I was thinking it sounded great then I realized the HQ switch wasn't on! I'm actually prefering the non HQ versions for some things.

I only used them in HQ mode. Are you getting any weird meter behavior?

1st time I've done this (I think) Just bought this without demoing it. Great price and I use SDRR on almost every mix. Love that thing. Between SDRR and Decpitator I feel I rarely need to look elsewhere for Saturation/distortion.
Cant wait to try these comps

Klanghelm ToneBoosters Airwindows Sknote Overtone They all do great work.

I only used them in HQ mode. Are you getting any weird meter behavior? I thought the meters were doing weird things too but then noticed they seem to default to a combo or in & out. Once I clicked on the bottom right of the meter and changed it to GR or whatever- they seemed to work as expected. Maybe your issue? Sounds great - bought without demo'ing and love it so far Yeah, that happened to me too, but they still seem to be wonky.
