That means Charlie Watts is in trouble too.

Don't leave out Bonzo! I actually took it as a compliment, everyone knows that great players not only sway, they swing! 8) I might also add that i "bury the click" probably better than anyone in history, when it was built, I threw it underneath the pool in the back yard.

I meant between takes. One of them, maybe the real 47, was super slow. It'll have some effect on transients and tone...but, I was mostly just trying to bust your balls tonebone.

There are a couple of spots where Bonham changes speed so drastically, I thought he skipped a beat! Somehow the band stayed with him. They had an amazing vibe that was copied extensively, but never duplicated.
Jimmy Page was adept at using mics for sound effects. I can only imagine how much fun it might be in a studio with a dozen Neumann's kicking around.
This makes me wonder, is Neumann's capsule in their current reissue U47FET the same as the one in the U47

That's cool. Do they sell them separately? It seems logical that a U47 DIY build might benefit from the K47 capsule, or am I wrong?
I had two of the U47 FET's last summer for a few weeks. I didn't like them at all on vocals, but I bet they're killer for other purposes.

Killer on Kick, bass amplifier cabinet (especially 15"), stand-up bass, mandola, baritone guitar and metal vocals.

A great example being "since i've been loving you", in the early part of the tune, 47 seconds in, right before the change where Plant does his first "ohhh", Bonzo holds on to the last kick to make the next.............drrrrrrrrrrrrrop!= Awesome! you know a guy is a badass when his pedal squeak is grooving its ass off! 8) shitty quality, but you get the idea...

I just ordered two of them. Ordered 2 U47 Fets or two K47 capsules? FWIW the capsule in that mic is cardioid only. The rear diaphragm is clear mylar, not sputtered, and therefore won't be compatible with the MK-U47 in omni mode.

Not sure if it's "hyper" but it's definitely only a single polar pattern.

MJB, yes you can order the K47 by itself from Sennheiser. Technically it's called the K49 now, but it's the same capsule. It's about $715, and yes, it would go perfect in a MK-U47. If I was rich, I would put a Thiersch blueline in a MK-U47, a genuine K49 in an M49 clone, and my K7 in a U47FET clone.

And they are not hypercarioid, they are cardioid but a little narrower in scope, much like an SM7.

I believe Ioaudio, aka Max has closed his store, sadly, the MKU47 is history.... He apparently stopped making transformers as well, that is bad news for all of us, Max is a nice guy, and badass at this stuff, sorry to see him end it.

sorry Max, that was an assumption on my part, i saw that the store was closed with no explanation over at GDIY, some people also commented with not response, so again.... I assumed, very glad to hear you're not closing up, and also quite interesting to hear about this pvc M7? Hmmmm...., that formulation is quite tricky no? how'd you come about this?(if you don't mind sharing a little info?)

That brass disk would be much more durable if it didn't have a bunch of holes in it!
