UA just dropped a 2 for $99 plugin bundle deal. and I have a $25 off in my cart still... Sound City here I come? Ugh. I might pick up SC too. And then either the Massive Passive or Fairchild. Although Fairchild is $39 at the moment. I am very on the fence. Cheers, Geoff

How are you using it? I’m just using it in reverb, set up an a various buses, then I pick a verb by type: acoustic, drum what ever, so far so good. I’ve used it in re-mic mode on some synth and DI bass tracks. It’s a nice way to get some character, though I’m sure an amp sim could get me somewhere similar. Mostly I’m using it as a room reverb, sending a little bit of all the busses in it for some glue. At least on what I’m mixing lately it’s beating out standard convolution reverbs. The ability to mix and move mics is pretty cool. The processing stuff can be cool.

I have one and want to get the Tilt for $4 after $25 off, but I would consider buying 2 for $75 and THEN doing the Tilt for $4.

I have Tilt and rarely use it. I got it cheap a couple years back. My original rule for buying UAD plugins was "I will never be able to own a real one of these in my lifetime" (because $$ or they just don't make them anymore). Also, I only bought these last two because they were both UAD and Native (and I'll use the Native version since I can't upgrade UAD software until they fix it)

I think you have to spend more than $75 to use the $25 voucher.

I think you have to spend more than $75 to use the $25 voucher. I’m not sure that was the case with the Black Friday one. It just said any plug or bundle. That said I didn’t use mine, so, ? Can anybody who got a recent one look at the language in the email and see if it specifies a price. Cheers, Geoff

I think you have to spend more than $75 to use the $25 voucher. I think that's the 'gift' one from UA. The one given after buying something else, I don't believe has that stipulation. (I also might be wrong)

I think you have to spend more than $75 to use the $25 voucher. Nope. I bought the 1176’s for $14.

Man...I've been struggling justifying even spending $99. I probably will, but besides the Capitol Comp, I'm not sure what else I would even use. If I did the 2fer 99, I could do SCS and CC, but I have the probably-very-true suspicion that I would rarely ever use it. After demoing the thing, I could get it to where I thought it sounded pretty good...took a little while...but then I pop a Seventh Heaven/Valhalla/etc room on and I can't really tell you one is better than the other.
I just have a bunch of things I want to get and I'm trying to decide.

Think it comes down to workflow, which way you prefer to set verbs and whether one space actually better suits your mix?

I just have a bunch of things I want to get and I'm trying to decide. Same here. I actually have two 25 coupons, making it 2 for 50 for me. Which is hard to pass up. But for the life of me, I really don't need anything that I don't already have. I wasn't planning on buying anymore plugs this year, but the UAD hype marketing machine already got me for SCS, C-Max limiter, 175B/176, B3 Waterfall, and their Leslie. But it really is hard to pass up a 2 for 50. I think I have narrowed it down to these: Capitol Mastering Comp C-Axe C-Vox Electra 88 Hitsville EQ Do I really need yet another software comp? What does this do differently than the gazillion I already have? Plus, I have a carefully curated selection of HW to choose from. C-Axe and C-Vox seem like useful tools, but I already have RX 9 Standard and Acon Restoration Suite 2. Does this bring anything new or better? I don't really have a noise or room ambience problem with my vocal recordings. I do get some hum/buzz in my guitars, but could RX or Acon fix that just as well? I already have a few Rhodes (Pianoteq, Acousticsamples VReeds and VTines, Orange Tree Famous E). Is this one better/different? Hitsville EQ...zzz...zzzz....huuh, errr.. another software eq? I admittedly splurged on the new Tone Projects Michelangelo because I had sold my HW this past year and kind of miss it. I'm really struggling to decide.

For what it’s worth, I prefer the Keyscape electric keys more than the Electra by a pretty wide margin.

Me too.
Also, I think Hitsville is the one where UAD was claiming it was modeled “with all its glorious harmonics and nonlinearities” and then a few posts below that someone said they had tested it and it had none of that, and was just a totally clean, fixed point EQ. This was on GS. UAD hadn’t responded last I looked.
Edit: someone else says there’s a little bit of added harmonic content; I haven’t verified any of this so really shouldn’t be posting about it.

Gee, that’s interesting, can’t say I thought Hitsville eq sounded clean?
When I demoed it before, I was more concerned about gain staging.

I just checked the thread again. Someone else saying there are small amounts of harmonics added. Editing my original post as this is just me being lazy and spreading unverified forum gossip.
I have the Hitsville EQ and haven’t tried it yet, just thought the conversation in the GS thread was interesting.

Same boat as others…the constant deals and coupons are wearing down my defenses. I sort of hate UA but have to tip my hat to their hype machine.
That said, I’m glad I got the Capitol Compressor. It’s pretty outstanding.

I'm quite interested in the C-Suite stuff. I have RX something and it's useful for certain things, but I usually have to commit it because it will screw with latency (PT native) and I often don't like what it does to the high end.

It’s pretty outstanding. Curious about this. What are you using it on, and how would you describe it? I’ve only had it for a couple of days, so I’m still getting the hang of it. So far it isn’t quite the right flavor for master bus or drums on what I’m working on (synthy/weird country songs),but it is killing on individual instruments and vocals, and I can see it being very useful more organic folk/indie projects. It does the smooth/3D varimu thing while having the control of a good VCA comp. Also the saturation is very nice. I’d recommend a demo while the sales are on.

Well, I am weak it seems. I had a $25 coupon and with the 2 for 99 deal I went ahead and got the SC and Massive Passive. for $74. Then they sent another coupon so I picked up the Fairchild for $14. If they sent me another coupon I’d probably buy something else. Sigh.
Anyhow I see Helios is marked down to $29. If that were Native, yeah I’d be getting that too.
Cheers, Geoff

if you don't have a real Distressor, the plugin is pretty worthwhile (IMO). the DBX 160 I use quite often as well (and it won't need to be recapped). both are DSP or Native
