Bock got bougckd out by UAD way back when, this is their big announcement Can you site a source for that? I ask only because I thought we have seen multiple references from Drew indicating he is an UA employee and working on mikes . I looked into it:  riddle memorial hospital |

Yes, we bought Bock Mics. And David is a UA'er now!!
The 167 and 251 are indeed tube mics, the 187 is not.
Perhaps you're thinking about Townsend Labs which we did NOT buy, but rather we acquired their assets including the Sphere L22 which is now a UA product.

Hmm wonder if the 67 / 251 are tube mics. I’m assuming they will be priced similar to the warm mics. They are Bock mics. That 251 will be around 6k, if they don’t decide to raise the pricing. Not sure about that 67. |

No where's my wallet? Oh, it already melted from exhaustion. Hmm.. I have mixed feelings about this place, I really do. If you plan on sticking around, you're going to need a bigger wallet. |

I remember seeing a video of the Bock 67 introduced at AES about 5 years ago, but never heard of one in the wild after that. Always wondered why it never came out. That Bock 67 at AES 2017 had a traditional shaped 67 head basket. This UA 167 does not, and looks like the U99.

Idk about you guys but I just couldn’t ever get my self to buy a mic that is either of those shade of lime green. I really think they look awful. The 67 is cool though. I hope it’s reasonably priced.

I'm still up for a Soundelux U99 (or Bock equivalent) and UA have epic support so if it exists consider one sold. I'm assuming the U99 is the 167 in this pic. I also see a 187 which would be new as far as I know. Bock never did an 87 clone before did he?  Ugh....those are freaking ugly..... Sorry. They are. |

The 251 looks almost just like the original? And the others look like the 251 without the pattern selector and different colors? People will seriously complain about anything. I've never owned a UA or Bock product in my life but you have to work really hard to find anything particularly objectionable about these. They look like... microphones. |

Advance Audio looks identical... right down the ONKE switches... advancedaudio.ca/products/dm7Really hate to be this cynical but really smells like UA took the fast food route on this one. Not what I've come to expect... not at all. Now I'm going to assume the pencil mics are also a label slap? Ick. |

What if Bock or UA came on here and called the Silver Bullet ugly... Just something to think about. 2. I hate the color pink, but I wouldn't let that stop me from buying a LTL product. 3. I quite like those tones of green and think those new UA Bocks look nice. |

The U95 was often compared to the U87, but it wasn't a direct clone. I'm really hoping they didn't screw up the 251. The U95 was the tube version, of a past incarnation/version of the U195. IMHO the latest U195 sounds like... A U87 where the Upper Mid Bite is flattened, along with an "Air Bump" around 12KHz. Works better that way on my voice. Similar to how an original 414 "Brass Capsule". Although when "Flat" the U195 is a bit brighter. On "FAT", the U195 would be darker than that 414. Chris |
