Hey guys, This is an interesting thread especially from a new American made mic company perspective. Warm is smart in what they do... They use some american made parts to help make the chinese manufactured parts more appealing. Bottom line manufacturing a mic like warm does is relatively easy. You hire a contract manufacture in china to do pretty much everything, You send the parts you they cant source ie.. Cinemag transformers (Dave is the best!) and some time later they send a pallet of mics to your distributer. All the work that Warm does in developing the brand and making sure the mic sounds relatively close to the mic they are emulating. Guys like Heiserman Bock Flea Lawson etc... Do everything!! In house. Capsules Bodys boards, everything!! And trust me.. The cost and quality of the Body is the in my opinion the biggest cost difference. Is it better?? Thats the real test for me.. I think yes.. I hope Heiserman can fill the gap between guys like Warm and the Bock and Flea type guys.. We will see Hope to see some of you at NAMM!! Booth 10828

Love you’re optimism!! The contest actually runs all month... And honestly still has very good odds! I’m very surprised the drum clips didn’t get a bit more response.. make sure and download the files.

We are doing some tracking this evening, Drums, Kick and Tom as well as bass & electric guitar. All along side a vintage neumann fet47.

Hey, My hk47 is my take on a k47 type. I also have some m7 available short supply though. I have a money back guarantee. If you more interested in an m7 let me know they aren't available on the website,

Yes they look great!! But sound even better.. All made in the states. I have the body's machined here in NC as well as the capsule. Pretty sure you guys are familiar with my work in that regard. We have much more coming in the clip department. I hope some of you guys check it out!

Yes for sure... Edge terminated VS center terminated. For some reason I lean toward the center terminated.

Hey all!! Thanks to everyone that has been saying such nice things things about my capsules!! The topic around my hk47 I really hate even calling it a 47 to be honest. I like to think of it being a modern sounding 47ish capsule. One that works well in a flat circuit. The brightness of that particular capsule is something I kept due to some positive feedback but that being said darkening to match closer to a true k47 isn't out of the question and if someone makes that request I would be happy to fulfill it! It almost makes me want to start offering both. Regarding my 87 the adjustments I made for stam are now a part of the normal capsule. Eric

Platinum seems like a sales gimmick to me... From what I see its a pretty standard Neumann k67 copy with metal rings. Skin that capsule with a gold coated Mylar and I bet they sound the same.. In fact Platinum is not a better conductor than gold and its also more dense. So on paper would possibly sound worse. I would also question its ability to adhere to Mylar? I wonder if it needs an adhesion layer?

Pretty much agree with most statements made so far..When I see something like this I have a great respect for recreating the body. Its not easy! That is most likely the brunt of that 5500 dollar price tag.. Its the same for Telefunkan. In my opinion the tfunk mics sound ok..but not 9000 dollars ok! I am sure most 251 or c12 clones will be just as good or better sounding than these, but they sure wont look as cool! And with a clone you get to choose the flavor of capsule and tube transformer etc! For the cost I can build a 251 U47 C12 Fet47 and an 87!!

Hi all,
Don't forget about Dany B's M7 or even (shameless plug) My Hk 47.. I prefer them both over the other M7 47 options out there. My personal u47 just killed a tfunk 47 in a shoot out.. It was built around Danys dual tube boards and cinemag transformer with my hk47 variant.

That place is flipping cool, I was very lucky and had a personal tour of the entire facility around summer NAM. That was my favorite space, so rock and roll. That API is nuts!!
I would love to see everything mic'd up!

Oh I thought you were putting it in a Chung c12...measuring the voltage at the capsule isn't possible due to the super high impedence.. Can you take a picture? In my capsule the backplates are isolated so you will need to bridge the two backplate wires. Sadly I don't know how Ben did his circuit so it's a bit more challenging for me to help troubleshoot.

Ben,
Did you check all of you voltages in the ps under load.. As you know I personally mounted the capsule in my c12 to test.. Please feel free to call me as well. Sucking back like that is either to much voltage at the capsule or the capsule was damaged somehow during shipment.. You could also try the other side and see if it does the same..
