For sure is a bummer.. Mostly due to no cool parties etc. And Bill you are correct this will for sure impact NAMM as a whole until we see a good readily available vaccine. Shit they would need to make it mandatory in my opinion! Get your badge and vaccination at the same time

Hey all, I have a unique perspective on this.. As you guys know Heiserman products are 99% sourced from non China suppliers. Like mentioned above its very difficult to completely avoid it from the component level. Although we do try!! The reason for me to even comment has to do with large amount of deception I see from some others that will remain unnamed on here. Honestly I can count on one hand regarding mic companies that actually manufacture the metal work themselves. 95 percent of these guys source contract manufactured mics and then maybe add a new component thats sourced state side and then call it either manufactured or assembled in the USA. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out by the way! look at the prices!! That all being said I do not blame the folks that have chosen to go down this road! It's really the fault of large retail outlets demanding 30 percent or more in terms of margin. And that's after the distribution company takes their 30 percent.. And that's top down!! It basically either forces you to a direct model like we do or go to China and have 90% of your mic built for 45 bucks a piece. And yes that turns into a $400 dollar mic! Ok maybe 399

Piano movers!!!!!, I used one from Seattle to NC for my Neotek Elite. They even help put the legs back on! Air ride climate controlled and no need to crate. they wrapped the shit out of it with moving blankets and strapped it down. Super smooth and wasn't that expensive.

We can make that happen..... He is pretty swamped at the moment with all of the Shannon drama. PM me and we can at least get the ball rolling, I know you would be very happy with that mic after Wave and Heiserman have our collective way with it.

That mic will do better with any known good capsule as long as it isn't a 67 or 87 style.. It would be to bright for most ears. I have heard one with a Heiserman hk12 that sounded fantastic.. Wave did that one

I talked to Wes Dooley about making a video about using his R92 mics on toms. That could be fun. The Sputnik party was crazy. I've never seen it that crowded. I may have had a bit too much whiskey. Carl Tatz showed me his new monitors and the latest Phantom Focus system. It was really impressive. Ruler flat response and the phase plot was perfect. I had never seen or heard anything like it. On Friday I got to do a mix demo at NAMM, but for some reason half of the plug-ins refused to authorize once we got the computer set up on stage even though it worked perfectly 20 min earlier off to the side of the stage. Frustrating, but I got through it. I tried talking to a dude with a YouTube channel I like that's all about gear and recording techniques. He treated me like I was some kind of annoying fan-boy which I found equally annoying and amusing. Being YouTube famous is cool. I ran into Larry Crane from Tape Op at 3 Crow Bar last night and we sat talking about the old days when I lived in Portland and we worked together and helped each other out on projects and with our studios. He's such a good guy. I went over to the RobotLemon party and watched Pete Lyman and Reid Shippen record a bluegrass band live to disk. The other people in the control room were Ray Kennedy, Dave Kalmusky, Ryan Hewitt, Vance Powell, Ted Jensen and Jaquire King. None of them are YouTube famous though. This wins the best post award

Hey all, Heiserman audio is for sure going to be in Nashville for NAMM. I would love to shoot out the H47 tube against the Flea! We should have time to set something up we just need a good place to do it. We may be able to ask Mitch at Sputnik? But I’m not sure about there schedule during NAMM...

Hey all, I think you can really divide the 47 tribute mics in to 3 distinct categories.. Good quality components in a china made body and PSU, High quality components in a china made body PSU, and high quality components in a high quality made body and high quality PSU along with tuning the mic correctly! I have seen some of the mic builders mentioned above just really cut corners to save cost. Loose parts, poor assembly shotty wiring, glued parts (transformer!). Along with that I have seen a wide swing regarding sound even though they are using all the same parts! So my suggestion to everyone demo these mics!! Open the PSU and Mic and take a look at the work! It's for sure a get what you pay for situation.
