So the real question is does it sound unique enough to make you want to buy it. it sounds unique enough that CLA specifically uses on lead vocals on almost every single mix while the other 3 are used for other purposes. The voicing changes and transient response differences are quite noticeable. No comment on where (what country) the parts are being soldered to the boards though?

He mainly mixes stuff he did 0 tracking on. Is that what you’re asking?

No comment on where (what country) the parts are being soldered to the boards though? mostly stuffed overseas (depending on the components) transformer install, bias calibration, meter calibration and assembly all done in the us.

Sounds similar to my Reverend Guitars. Most work done overseas, while the finishing and setup is all done in Toledo. I'm sure it meets Black Lion's standards, but it is an interesting evolution for this company. They were always the people saying they could make your crappy audio gear sound better, doing it themselves, to push for that extra 2%.
So Seth, what's next for your CLA collaborations? Last year Avantone. Now Black Lion. Next year a must have option for summing mixers from TK? A Golden Age mic based on one of CLA's rare studio treasures?
