Some acoustic jazzyness. Upright bass is Vienna Upright Vsti.
Pushed up 2db of the high band on the Audified RZ062b, and the 073 compressor is touching 1-2 db on the mixbus. Nimbus room and hall verbs.

There's a good isolation mount that Audio Technica makes called the AT8471, I've got a couple here. The Oktava MK 012 clips seem to work fine also. Wondering if this AT8471 clip fits a KM84. I've now tried 3 clips including a cheap samson sdc option, a Shure A57F and an AKG SA-60. The AKG works the best of the lot, and seems the least likely to pop the neumann badge off like a beer top, but it's still not perfect. Wondering if this AT8471 will do a better job. I've also got a pair of vintage neumann EA-21 shockmounts for the 84s with busted elastics, but I can't get neumann/sennheiser spares to get back to me about what replacement part is compatible, after discontinuing the EA-21 elastic part number still love those 84s tho. halp! <3

If you can find the measurements, and the KM84 is maybe a few mm bigger in diameter, then you're good to go. If it's smaller than the MK012, then it's a no-go. Judging from memory, I think the KM184 was a little fatter than the MK012, but this is just my memory I don't have it here now (the KM184.)

But unfortunately, it doesn't have a number on it. The KM's body diameter is 20mm. I believe it might be this one although the it's for 21mm body diameters.... www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AT8405--audio-technica-at8405a?mrkgcl=28&mrkgadid=3248788708&rkg_id=0&product_id=AT8405&campaigntype=shopping&campaign=aaShopping%20-%20Core%20-%20Studio%20&%20Recording&adgroup=Studio%20&%20Recording%20-%20Microphones%20&%20Wireless&placement=google&adpos=1o3&creative=213185928383&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_r3nBRDxARIsAJljleEg626AB3GXZkptwF3PqA8HGqY5LimNRtW2kTq60cjZSenQq0tdzbAaAltwEALw_wcBMine fits nice, but not super snug. Could get yanked out if someone tripped on a cable.... Then.... For a generic, one size fits most, the AT shock mount AT8410a works well for me. I've got a pair for my 86's. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AT8410a--audio-technica-at8410a

That's an interesting clip drbill. It looks like it will give a little, and I'd guess rubber transmits less sound than plastic.

I have a set of these for my rm-6 ribbons, and km84 clones. They work well enough.

I spoke at length the other day with the soyuz rep about some of the problems I've had with the 13's, such as the weak clip and the black powder coating chipping problems. Logo falling off. He more or less said it is was it is....and it's not going to change anytime soon. They sound good though. Their marketing about their quality is better than the actual quality...truth be told, their not pro level mics.

I’ve got the Rycote INV-7 for my KM84’s. Have you tried them?

I wonder if you got a pair from a weird paint run or something. Regardless, to say they are not "pro level mics" seems like a bit of hyperbole to me. Of course, I would be upset if the badge fell off.

Of course, I would be upset if the badge fell off. I bought 2 master sets...and finish on one of them had chips in them when I opened the box upon receiving...had to send them back for another pair. And the new pair had the logos in a completely differant location. When comparing them to my Neumann and shoeps, there's no comparison of quality. They sound good though.

The 0-11's and 0-13 I tried were fine, and were absolutely pro level mics. I had two Neumann KM84's here at the same time and they weren't constructed any better in any way perceivable.. Now, I can't speak for the clips, but the ones I had were fine, no problems at all. I have the O-19 FET, and it's built like a tank. I can't speak to the black finish though.

I've got a pair of 013's in black and they are perfect, I have had no problems with them at all. I did have some conversation with Soyuz and they said their mics/parts are fabricated by hand in house.
The Soyuz clips are solid and seem fine though I use the Rycote INV-6 or INV-7.

My Rycote USM Universal shock mounts can hold any sort of SDC I throw at them (Golden Glove recipients three years running) as well as of course their larger sisters and brethren. where is the closest diesel fuel station

The clips/holders aren't very good - hence my scotch tape around them...and the noisefloor is a little higher than others...I've had the badge fall off of one (and a chip in the paint of the same one)...just seuper glued it back on. But they're also cheap to buy new and sound great...so there's that.

I have the Rycote INV-6 and INV-7, and they both work great with the KM84s, also have a pair of cheaper K&M clips that work great with the Rode stereo bar for X/Y etc. Also received a Wilkinson Audio X/Y mount for the KM84s a couple of days ago, that make X/Y setup a cinch, and you can use the INV-7 on it to get the rumble rejection for the pair too.
I have the Rycote USM too, but only ever tried that with LDCs.
