In the re-amp clips on GS I picked the Warm over the Don and the Aurora, though the Don and Warm were quite close.

Personally, I just want a more neve like sound to compliment my Warm 412 (api).

kcatthedog : yes, moddin` and search for perfection is not always sane, let`s remember some non-experts asked at some stage to twist 1081`s to class-A 1073/84`s pre`, what is feasible but also not at all necessary...

drbill : well, it would be strange, since Heritage audio leans towards the high-end, Warm audio making distortion boxes...

I understand the search for the holy grail in gear but at the end of the day, each piece of gear has its particular sonic footprint and what matters is, does that help you with your work: that’s really all that matters ?

Has anyone here received one of the Warm 73 series yet? Just curious to hear real world feedback from this group.

drbill : well, it would be strange, since Heritage audio leans towards the high-end, Warm audio making distortion boxes... That's really not true about Warm Audio. I've had their WA2A, WA76 and ToneBeast, and they worked just fine and sounded really good. Can you get a little better for twice the price, probably, but come on, that's a cheap shot. I use the Stam Audio 1073 clone at the moment, and it's superb.

drbill : well, it would be strange, since Heritage audio leans towards the high-end, Warm audio making distortion boxes... You're funny; are you suggesting a 73 is a pre known for its cleanness ? that's a scream !! Also as the current heritage pre and the Warm are roughly $100 usd retail apart, I got a feeling once we get pics that the builds are going to be very very similar I think this is probably the only reason there is already a stam 73 mkii is that he redesigned after opening up a Warm to differentiate his pre from the Warm ? Ironic as even Rupert has been quoted as saying the big element in the 73 sound are the transformers

There are a lot of people out there who just don’t like the idea of Warm Audio, thus the constant, dogmatic need to try and diminish it.

I have had most of the Warm stuff and frankly I think the quality keeps getting better and better with each release.

Warm backs every product 100%, and offers the fastest customer service I've seen. I began using their products before they were known and ubiquitous, so I'm not a fanboy, just seeing a fair deal that's well made and sounds good.

By the way, the x73i is the least exciting of the 4 to my ear but I personally have gotten great sounds with those in the past. Just goes to show ya.

Interesting thx well I preferred b and d, then c and a least but the body and presence here I liked might not matter at all once you introduce the eq and in a mix ?
