Pretty much any time I need to order something from DigiKey or Mouser...never have the capacitor or resistor no matter how many you've bought you never have the one you need.
Guitar cases and gig bags aren't fun.

The best price I found was at Plugindiscounts.com No sales tax, which is huge for me in Tennessee. It was cheaper for me to buy the total bundle from them over upgrading Pro-Q 3 and Pro-MB from FabFilter’s site. I buy a lot from them…instant license transfer

I went with the FabFilter Total Bundle (sold my Pro-Q3 and Pro-MB license to a friend to offset the cost), some Goodhertz stuff, took a flyer on the Safari Pedals stuff, Soothe 2, and the new Tokyo Dawn filter bundle, and the Fuse Audio Labs Plate 140...I think I'm done with plugins for a long while!

Downsizing a little bit...these are all items I enjoy and use and have no problem keeping, I just have too much stuff that even when I have a huge band in the studio, there's tons of stuff on the shelf.
Blue Bottle with B0, B6, B7 Capsules: Original version with custom, velvet lined hard case. Excellent condition...probably the one I'm most on the fence about selling. $3500
Groove Tubes MD3 Pair: One is a MD3 and one is a MD3A, but they sound the same to me and are identical inside. These are based on the Sony C37, which was Aspen Pittman's favorite microphone, and use a Josephson capsule that's also used in the Manley Silver and Josephson C715/C716. Amazing microphone, and while some may say you can never have too many, I might. $3500 for the pair
Samar VL37 Matched Pair: Beautiful extended frequency response ribbon microphones. Come in wooden boxes with clips. $1500 for the pair
Korby KAT RED: Korby's take on a U67 with his version of the K67 capsule. I had the microphone modified to be multi-pattern since it was already a dual back plate design so now it has a continuously variable pattern selector on the power supply. Comes with a custom flight case as well. $1500 (a steal considering these were $3000 new and cardioid only)
Benchmark MPS-400 (2 available): Great 4 channel preamps. Lots of gain and their high input impedance make them great for ribbons and dynamics. $550 each, $1000 for both.
Anthony DeMaria Labs ADL-1500: Upgraded by Jim Williams at Audio Upgrades with Jensen input and output transformers, fully recapped, and improved signal path components. This is probably his most expensive upgrade due to the cost of the parts and was $700. Great LA-2A inspired compressor, again just too much stuff. $2300

I think if you aren’t “smashing” a preamp to purposely generate harmonic distortion, most discrete and in some case chip designs sort of all sound to same to me. I do hear a difference with ribbon microphones, but I think that has more to do with the input impedance of the preamp…which is why I favor using an AEA RPQ or a Benchmark MPS (which has a 10K impedance I think)…it just makes them all sound clearer and less rolled off
But if I plug a KM84 into anything I own I can’t tell the difference…like today I used API’s for everything just because “why not?” and tomorrow I might use John Hardy’s or mix in some Daking’s or GML’s because I get bored 😆

I like Wegen picks, with the little holes in them. Blue Chips are nice but I only have a couple because people gave them to me. I've kept a few Dunlop 207's that Molly Tuttle has left behind at the studio and I really like those. I've definitely graduated to heavier picks. For electric I usually just pick up whatever around...I bought every pick D'Addario makes to have at the studio and none of them have every struck me as "better" than others...but with acoustic guitar picks definitely have a bigger difference.

I love my original RPQ...get used on every session. On occasion I'll use the low cut to get rid of rumble/proximity, and make the high shelf for something like overheads or acoustic guitar. I need to get another one.

1983/84 Fender Strat in really really nice condition, same colour as my 1994 Strat underneath. Are people falling out of love with Strats? Very surprised that they both feel different on the fretboards but to decide which is better would be impossible to tell. The pickups in the 83/84 do sound noticeable different then the the more polished ones in the 1994 model.
It's funny, my first "good" guitar was an American Standard Telecaster from the mid-90's, and the Strat I just picked up is from the same era and it's interesting how immediately familiar it felt. I've owned a couple other Strats but this one feels "right" Not a huge fan of the American Standard Strat pickups with the flat pull pieces so I ordered a set of Pure Vintage '59's to try, as well as a mint green pick guard and aged white hardware in the hopes of "mellowing" it out. Electric Blue (similar to the Colbalt Blue they have now) with the pure white pick guard just doesn't look right to me.

Traded a Gibson Les Paul Studio in (my opinion) hideous wine red finish for a Fender American Standard Strat in "Electric" Blue. Pretty poorly installed "Hot Rails" in the bridge and neck but luckily he still had the originals. I decided to order new pots and a 5 way switch and redo it with nicer wiring...worth saving myself the headache of trying to clean up what's there.

Being in Nashville I’ve had Cole repair probably a dozen ribbons and dynamic mics and always does a great job and his turn around time is incredibly fast

Traded an amp for a Gibson Les Paul Classic with Throbak pickups and wiring harness. Plays great, not too heavy (but still a Les Paul)...nice to have a Les Paul in the house again and it takes up a lot space in the studio!

Interested to hear one some day…my REDD has become a go to for pretty much vocalist since I got it against my Upton 251, U67 old and new, Bock 49, and anything else in the cabinet Interesting. I love my REDD's, like the TG but this new one is really great. Don't hesitate. Singers always say they enjoy singing into the REDD, I think because it has such a “finished” sound. It’s inspiring on headphone and that’s what really matters.

I have forty channels of compression here at the studio and honestly, besides a little compression for a dynamic vocalist, and just a touch of compression on upright bass, I rarely patch anything else in while tracking. Sometimes I’ll put something on overheads when you have a drum with a loud ass snare drum that takes over…
I think an underrated tracking compressor is the Summit Audio TLA-100. New, they are fairly expensive, but I paid around $1000 for each of mine and they are the only outboard compressors I use every session

I *think* somewhere I have a pair of DB25 to TT snakes so I'll be able to easily patch in and out until I figure out where to put another patch bay in the studio...

C-100 is a nice mic, very detailed and fast...can be a bit "sibilant" at time and is one of the few things I like to pair with our UA 2-610 (along with C451's / C34)...helps mellow out some of the extreme high end detail. I've been thinking about getting a second one to use with our baby grand, which is fairly dark sound.
I racked up a bunch of D'Addario "Player Points" and ordered 5 clip on tuners...all different colors...hopefully they'll be less likely to "walk away" when they are yellow and green.
Might trade an Ampeg amp for a '73 Fender Bronco...big fan of 24" scale guitars. We'll see! Also a power supply rebuild kit for my Arp Solina.
