From this first listen I thought the Iridium sounds a bit more realistic then these did. Kinda liked the Ruby the best.
But that could just be the videos, as I own a Iridium.

Martin, Apollos all need to be powered up before computer is initiated. Will work fine if done in that sequence.
Otherwise it's a crapshoot.

Although it sounds like everything else they did previously~!
That said, Always a wonderful production. Saw them live a few times, and the band live sounded as good sonically as did their records.
Totally amazing.
Was fortunate enough to work on one of Kurts solo albums years ago at my place. He and the rest of the "Tears for Fears" band stayed with me for a few weeks. I can truly say, it was a blast hanging and working with all of them. Great guys.

Great guy... I toured with him quite a few times over the years, as his house sound mixer. Quite a character, but a very cool guy, who gave it all, every damn show!

Except for working with professionals, I agree with the previous posts where most of the outside enquires, and eventual bookings (or not) are based around $, and nothing more.
I cannot tell you how many times I've heard, "Why would I pay you $$$, when my friend "Tony" has a studio in his basement and would only charge me $15 per hour?"
My usual answer is, WOW, can you give me Tony's number, I'll book all my sessions over there, it's cheaper then working here! Haha
As an aside, quite a few years ago, I got a call from Ric Ocasek, he asked if he could come over and see the studio.. (we both lived in Millbrook NY. and my studio was just a few miles from him)
I said sure, and we scheduled a time and date for him to come by. If any of you knew Ric, you might know he was a bit "flakey". Needless to say he came by during a massive snow storm, (called me Tom) while I was just finishing up with another band, completely out of the blue.
Long story short, I showed him around, we talked production, sounds, guitars, amps, scheduling, etc, etc.
Then he asked about pricing at my place. Looking for a few weeks. My studio was a residential place, and we could house up to 8 people. (Not that Ric would need to stay, as he lived 6 miles away!)
I gave him a price of $1250 per day, all inclusive.
He looked at me and said, Hey (TOM) why would I pay you that rate, I also have a house in Manhattan, 1 block from Electric Lady, and I've done many sessions there. The Selby's (owners of Electric Lady at the time) would do a day rate of $850 a day for me.
I said, well then go there, BUT they're not me.
A week later I got the call to book the studio!
PS, I had a blast with him, and the band, and truly miss seeing him & Paulina almost everyday in our little Village!

The Capitol Chambers do sound wonderful.
But that said, I've found it very difficult to place them into mixes, without calling too much attention to themselves. Very strange....
Although I'm not really a fan of reverb to begin with, I don't seem to have the same feeling / problems when using Lexicon, Ams, or the Emt.
Now, it could be as simple as I owned 12 x Lex units, 4 x Ams Processors, and a Tube Emt Plate. So maybe, just maybe, I'm more familiar with them, and how to place them in a mix. Who knows.
But that's my story...

Actually, I've found being in the room with the drummer, isn't a big deal, with the proper setup and good isolating headphones, no biggie. But sitting in the room with cranked guitar amps in a NO GO!
Will never do that again. And that's why they are Isolated in a galaxy far away!

Hey Graves... To answer your question, It depends, but most of the stuff I track is a few people at one time. So that said, It's usually drums, bass, and at least one guitar, either electric, or acoustic, and scratch vocal.
If it's an electric guitar, no problem, as all my amps are wired to ISO cabinets in another part of the building. So no leakage at into the room at all~!
Bass is always, a Di one of these, (Avalon U5, Zod, Demeter Tube Di, ADL Tube Di, Evil Twin, or Radial) as well as my Ampeg B15, wired to a Cabinet, elsewhere in the building.
if it's an acoustic guitar, & live drums, then I have to isolate them as much as I can, which means placing the acoustic guitar as far away from the drums as possible in this little space. (opposite end of the room) Then using the proper mic, (polar pattern) to reject as much as possible, as well as taking a di of the guitar for emergency only.
But here's the deal, If we get a great feeling take, I keep the original Acoustic tracks, but I will usually have the guitarist immediately cut the track again to what we just printed, but this time alone with no one else playing in the room. Works a charm.
Most of the time, there is also a scratch vocal printed also. And lots of time, we'll keep this, and punch if need be.

Thank you!
I believe the vibe of the room is very, very, important, if you expect anyone to create in there.

I moved into A VERY SMALL ROOM recently. The last property I was in, was sold without warning, April of last year, and I had to vacate in 4 weeks. During the height of Covid. So I had to find and build out a temporary room so I could continue to work. That said, new closet is: 17 feet wide, 23 feet deep. and sadly 7 foot ceilings! Had 12 of the ASC tube traps from my last place, And 16 custom made Studio Stacker 3 x 2 gobos. Sold them all! It was either room for them or the musicians, and the gear I needed to make records. Once again, knowing your limitations within the space you are in is key. I can do almost anything I did in my old joint, which was 43 x 35 x 13, here. Other then the Bonham style drums, unless I use samples. (which I don't) So I target the stuff I can do here, Americana, Singer songwriter, Blues, etc, etc, and all's good. A few pics below is where I'm at right now. Not sure if I will take it any further, as I'm looking for a new location....

I run 3 x mac's when I mix.
1 x Mac mini 2020 runs Luna, and or DP, all the multitrack files. 1 x Mac mini 2016 Runs, the Neve Recall software for all my AMS NEVE STUFF. 1 x MacBook Pro 2020 acts as my Mixdown machine. Which is either setup to record a stereo mixes at 192KHZ, and or 16 x stems, and a stereo Mix of those stems, also @ 192Khz.
At this point I forgotten how I locked the MacBook, and the main Mac Mini together, but I did. (I think it was thru Midi?) Somehow it all works..

I've heard great mixes done entirely "In the Box" and of course, broken out to a console, or summing mixer. But at least for me, it comes down to one thing.
And I feel, no one really directly compares the two. Never really hear of that on the forums.
If the same mix done "In the Box" is broken out, The Out of Box version always sounds better... At least to me.
It's the same mix, just run thru my hardware, instead of the Plugs, I try to match everything as best as I can.
Personally I don't really care why it sounds better...it just does.
My take.

because of my recent move... I had to finally empty my storage rooms.
I found out I owned 101 vintage amps, and 32 vintage guitars.
Really need 4 of each.

Geoff's stuff is still some of the best sounding gear available, at any cost. Really cool stuff, made by a great guy! Still have 16 of the Original modules! And at one time, I did own 32 of them as they were going to go into the console Geoff & I designed together. (I've attached a pic of the original prototype which used all the original sized modules) But we found out after we brought that first prototype to AES one year, it was way tooooooo deep to most to use comfortably. So then we went BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD, and redesigned the input modules, as well as everything else into the less deep console that he built for a few years. I've also attached a photo of the first actual working console Geoff built (#1) which was in my studio "B" room.
