Cus UA is redoing its 12 days sale and as we all have a bunch of coupons that apply against sale prices , just got Distressor for $19: thank you UA !
Go into your account and check your coupons you might be pleasantly surprised.

I’ll admit I’m gloating, sort of, it’s regularly $299, but UA has it on sale and I had 2 $25 coupons and the 12 ve day offers another $50 off Distressor: why say no ?
Ho Ho Ho hold my prudence !

Yes, you can open an account anytime, but you won’t be able to register your hardware till you have it.
You cannot buy plugs without an account snd hardware registered, but in case you miss a sale reach out to cs and explain the situation, they normally help you out .

The coupons are in your account, so just log in
if there are multiple plug ins you want, buy them one be one to try to trigger the $25 thank you coupon: normally shows up in under a day.

Hmmm.. thinking on the 176 or Capitol Chambers. CC sounds great, but I'm not sure I'd use it much. With all the other compressor plug-ins I have, not sure I'd use the 176 much either. I guess I should demo them?

The Capitol Chambers do sound wonderful.
But that said, I've found it very difficult to place them into mixes, without calling too much attention to themselves. Very strange....
Although I'm not really a fan of reverb to begin with, I don't seem to have the same feeling / problems when using Lexicon, Ams, or the Emt.
Now, it could be as simple as I owned 12 x Lex units, 4 x Ams Processors, and a Tube Emt Plate. So maybe, just maybe, I'm more familiar with them, and how to place them in a mix. Who knows.
But that's my story...

I do think the Capitol Chambers work more easily in something like a jazz mix or singer songwriter. It can get dense pretty easily, which can be problematic in a fuller mix.

Maybe start with just Al’s the one on vocal ?

I used it for "jazz" on my first demo. Used it on a solo saxophone track (my first "song") and it really did sound appropriate for that.
Also worth looking at now due to low prices: Distressor, API Vision channel, API preamp, (Capitol chambers)
