The feature set and price seem that these are meant to directly compete with Strymon Iridium, though the Iridium offers three amp models in one pedal, and you'd have to buy three of these UA pedals.
Either way, I'd much rather use one of these new UA amp pedals than the UAD plugin equivalent. Knobs for the win.

They sound pretty damn realistic. I could dial the AxeFX in to exactly that tone though. But there’s definitely something about the feel/immediacy of these pedal/iridium types. Seems to be the tiniest bit more dynamic.

From this first listen I thought the Iridium sounds a bit more realistic then these did. Kinda liked the Ruby the best.
But that could just be the videos, as I own a Iridium.

I thought the 65 and the Ruby sounded fantastic.... cheers Wiz Agree...But I don't really care for the Tweed Deluxe Plug they have either. Been really wanting them to do a plug for the BF. Maybe we will finally get one for all of these. I actually love the Tweed Deluxe in the AxeFX.

I really want to get the Boss one called IR-200. I think it beats all of these (for me, obviously.) Never owned any of them, though. I have a lot of Katanas though, and other modern Boss super-pedals.

Yeah...in my GAS yesterday I nearly pulled the trigger on the 65, but they aren't available in oz as yet....and then this morning I thought...maybe they will release a UAD version? I did think the tweed did a good Marshall....8) cheers Wiz

In general, I thought they sounded very good, clean sounds sound great, not so certain about distortion?
But the dirty sounds, seemed a little sizzly, like the plug in amp emulations and lacked weight.
Maybe in a mix this would work?

Some of the preset sounds, apparently these come preinstslled on the app.

Sounds pretty good, don't love the distorted tones but it could be the way they were dialed in. I'll stick with my Kemper, Effectrode Blackbird and real amps.

Shiiit...that actually really sounds good...I really don't know if I can resist this. This is John Nip. I might sell the Axe to have fun with these. And then most likely in two months sell these to fund an Axe.

I think they look like toys and sound kind of generic. And are overpriced and underfeatured. Oh well. Man...I thought these sounded pretty incredible. I listened to the Boss you mentioned yesterday and didn't think it sounded good at all. Nothing wrong with that - guess we just all have different tastes.

My addiction is sad. Just got a Ruby. Been playing it for about 2 hours. I'm going back and forth with the AxeFX...and I can tell you the Ruby objectively sounds better. Axe sounds great...until you turn the Ruby on. That Brilliant channel with the Blue speaker is just classic AC 30 dominance. Got the Dream on order.

I think the Ruby was the one that interested me, out of these three. Followed by hmmmm for the Dream and nooooo for the Woodrow. At least based on the three video demos posted. So that's the one I would have gone for, too.

I was hoping the Woodrow would be killer … to provide an alternative to forking out for a vintage Champ … but I hear sizzle on the driven tones … on earbuds via YT … so maybe in real life its better …
I have the real McCoy of the other two in the studio.

Yeah - their plug does a similar thing. I don’t have a ton of experience with real Tweed Deluxes, but it’s not really what I expect to hear. The Tweed Deluxe in the Axe is really good. I’ve actually been using the jumped TD with input pulled down and gotten some really good tones. And the speaker bloom and overdriven sound is pretty awesome and the Axe is the only one I’ve heard that on. The Axe continues to get better and better with every FW revision - the amount of awesome sounds you can get out of it is astonishing. But the touch sensitivity and dynamics are still different with the Iridium and the Ruby. Think I remember Don saying he thought the Axe sounded like a pristine version of every amp he’s had. Which is a good way to describe it.

I’ve kinda found that the Tweed Deluxe does that one thing really well, but depends on how you’re running it. I was much more impressed with the pedals listening to the Anderton video. Then getting it at home, you find out really quickly what you’re gonna use and not use.

Dream/Deluxe thoughts.
Just got the Dream. Played it for about two hours. Couldn’t be happier. Started with a strat. Really liked the GB stock the best. Just really great tones. Running through the boosts - the Diaz mod one added more bottom than I expected but really nice. The lead can give some really great indie sounds. The stock boost seems just like a fet boost. I know they said the verb is the same as the Golden - but this sounds a little different to me. I’ll have to play around and see if I can match. Plugged in a tele and again - edge of breakup with the GB is just killer. Pulled up a Deluxe Vibrato channel on the Axe - which I’ve used forever - and man, the Axe lacks detail in comparison. And there’s a difference in the playing dynamics. I’m really impressed.
Ruby/AC30
Very similar thoughts in comparison to the Axefx. And I have loved the Axe. Anyway - the brilliant channel blue bulldog with some cut is just phenomenal. And the normal channel with the Silver cab killer too. Then flip that to the blue and crank the boost. Instant Brian May.

Great video. Tim said something that I've found very true. I spent so much time trying to make an amp sound the way I wanted them to -or having an "ideal" sound in my head - that I was completely missing all the character that each amp imparts. It's the sum of all of the sounds together. What sounds good by itself certainly is not what sounds good in the mix. These pedals don't let me tweak like a freak and dial out the coolness.
