Here's mine, as I ordered 5 x heads and matching 1 x 12 cabs way back in 1975 or 76 One for me, the remains for my rehearsal studio in Queens NY at the time. Funny story... Right after I ordered mine, I got a call from Randall Smith & his wife (at the time) Raven, to ask how bad did I need all of the amps? The basically wanted to know if it was OK, if they could put my amps off for a while, cause they had just received a BIG order from Keith Richards to build 11 combos for an upcoming Stones tour. Since my order was placed first they were gracious enough to call and ask me, I told them if they could complete ONE of my amps, then sure tell Keith Paul said it's fine! Haha Long story short, I received my first amp a few months later, and then about a year later, the remaining amps arrived.

I purchased a few of David's mics back when he first started up his company. Great Mics, great guy. Still have all of them, including #101 (which is the first) U95s ever made! Used to go to SoundDelux Studios, hang with him there, and talk mics! Attachments:

My take on using only one room for Recording / Mixing.
These concepts have been proven to work (FOR ME) after recording this way for the last 15 or so years. Not in any specific order:
#1 - As mentioned before in this thread, STORAGE is critical, make sure you have room for cables, mics, guitars, & cases, coats, etc.
#1A - Space for Coffee machine, Tea, Refrigerator, & Snacks, (garbage pails!)
#2 - Also mentioned previously, THE ROOM, is critical. Do as much as you can to reduce the BAD reflections & influence of the room on your mics. Make sure to work on each area to achieve the best results for what will be captured in that section / part of the room.
#2A - In my place (albeit small) I’ve created specific Zones for each musician. I worked on each area to achieve the best sonics for what will be recorded in that area. For example in my new very small space, (17 x 23 ft) this is how I have it designated.
Area 1 - Mix, recording control, with my little desk, speakers, etc. Area 2 - Vocalist Area 3 - Keys, Upright Piano, Hammond, Mellotron Area 4 - Electric / Acoustic Guitar 1, Area 5 - Electric / Acoustic Guitar 2, Area 6 - Bass Guitar, Area 7 - Drums, Area 8 - Bathroom / Iso Booth.
Since the room is so small, each area has been treated for what I expect to record in that spot. They are wired for the inputs necessary to capture that specific instrument, and will stay wired this way using whatever I feel is the best for that particular capture. Each of these areas has a Furman HP-16 personal Headphone mixer for the musicians.
#3 - HEADPHONES. As I stated above, in my room, I have a separate mixer for each zone / musician.
#4 - As in my last place, here I have a specific drum kit, tuned, and mic’ed to achieve the best sonics for this little space. I DON’T have people bring drums, my kit is the only one I use here. It took a long time to get the sound I want, and I love the fact I can start recording minutes after the band arrives. That said, I do ask that they bring their own cymbals, snare, and pedal, if they want. But the drums stay put! Many reasons for this besides what I already posted, but the truth is, with the budgets today, (or lack thereof) we don’t have 3 or 4 hours to set up drums, get sounds, etc, etc. Now if someone was doing a week, or a loc-out, then fine, but that’s not my reality anymore.
#5 - Same idea for the Guitar / Bass cabinets... I have over 20 x combo amplifiers / heads all setup to go in the room with us. The outputs of 14 x of these are wired to a 1/4 inch patch bay in the main room, so switching between amps is immediate! These 14 x amps in the patch bay can be patched to one of 4 x custom made ISO Cabinets, that are housed in a different part of the basement. Total Isolation. Each Cabinet has a different 1 x 12 speaker installed specifically their sonic signature. Outputs of all 4 x come up on the console. Speakers installed today for example; Fane Blue Back, Celestian Vintage 30, Celestian, Green back, Vintage Jensen blue logo. The cabinets are also mic’ed with two mics each, (although I rarely use 2!) Another great thing about these ISO cabs, is that the speakers are mounted on removable baffles. I have about 12 x different speakers mounted on these baffles. So switching out a speaker to match whatever I’m doing that session takes literally 2 minutes! So just like the drums, Guitarists bring their instruments, and a head if they have something specific, but NO CABS!
#6 - Obviously, all this shit must work~!
#7 - One of the most important things for me is to create a VIBE in your space! I try to create an environment that will allow musicians to be comfortable, & relaxed, so they forget they are in a studio, and just concentrate on capturing the best performance of whatever they are working on that day. I know some of this might sound heavy handed, but I have found this works for me, and my clients keep coming back for more. The studio is very efficient, and funny enough sounds great. I don’t have to make excuses for it sonically. Took a while but hey. So I guess we’re doing something right?
Now all that said, with this Covid crap running rampant, the small one room studio concept isn't exactly in Vogue at the moment.

In a Nutshell, yes! Although, it has Faders, Auxes, 4 groups, and Auxes. Could be pretty cool for engineers / studios who already have enough mic pre /Eq's and just need a way to integrate everything.

OK, so I was recently told by my landlord of ten years, that he has sold the property we're in, and need to vacate by June 1st. Do you believe this shit?
Now, this would be completely impossible in a normal year, but during this Corona bullsit, it is like a bad science fiction movie. Go figure.
I have sooo much shit, that I'm gonna find a small room here, and open something where my friends, and clients, have been for the last 37 years, and do whatever I can in the upcoming months. I Have 2 of my portable Helios rigs, so no real problem.
But at this point in time, everything is going into storage rooms!
I thought just as an aside, maybe one of the members here has a great space, and is looking for $150 /200K worth of gear to open up a small / but wonderful room?
Obviously none of us know what's gonna happen with this Corona virus for the long term, but like I said, we can discuss ideas? I figured I'd throw it our there, just incase.
I love the summers here in Millbrook, and can get enough work (during the pandemic who knows?) to keep me busy for a about 4 or 5 months.
But when the weather gets bad, I'd love to go a bit further south... Like I said, just an idea?
Open to suggestions, ideas, etc...

I did a demo for Cloud a few years ago at my place. Using 4 x of their (44) mics to record a drum kit on an alt / rock song. If I remember correctly, 3 x were passive, and one, (the room) was active. Kick, a little above the rim, about a foot away, tilted slightly down facing the kick... Snare, between the snare & hi hat aimed at the snare, at snare height. Floor tom, facing across the tom, looking at the snare.. And room, just a few feet away from the kit. (6ft) compressed!
Video HAS BEEN pulled because at the time it was Wave Distribution (Gil Griffith) who paid for the sessions and video shoot, then for whatever reason, Cloud decided to go with another distributor ..SO Wave pulled the vid, rightfully so.
Ok, so that said, the mics were great, did exactly what you'd expect a 44 type ribbon to do, and they were half the price of originals. A very, very, good deal!

As a test I recently recorded a Zematis AQ with a KM 256, and it's di out.
Tried to match as close as possible the WoodWorks plug to sound like the mic, But I never could get it to sound close.
Maybe because it was a direct comparison, I wasn't happy at all.
Then did this test again on 4 different acoustics, and di signals. Same results.
I gave up!

Haha... No offense taken, none at all. I was just stating how good the Radar sounds. I've owned many Radar systems since 96, and although limited in what it can do, they do sound markedly better than most of the top selling products listed in the forums. I get it trust me, I now have 3 x Radars. And 2 x Apollo x16's 1 x Apollo x8p 2 x Apollo Satellite (octo) 1 x Apollo x4 But since I purchased my first Radar II way back when, I have never cut basics on anything but a Radar! And will continue to do so, unless something else comes along to make me feel differently. Who knows, maybe "Luna"

I always gently compress the overheads, with a Neve 33609, to get the hat's, ride, and snare in a nicer place. Sounds much more of a piece when I do!

12 bit, as well as the analog electronics before and after it was digital . All of that is part of it's unique sound.
I don't know why they didn't just use a great analog front end, and output stage? Instead of modeling it? That seems a bit silly, as It is 3 spaces wide? Who knows why people do certain things?
Of course this goes for all that old 70's & 80's stuff, Eventide, Lexicon, Publison, EMT, Quantec, Klark Teknik, BDL, TC, Ursa Major, Yamaha, etc, etc.....
PS, I have 2 x RMX 16's. My main unit I'm keeping. The other one is in my storage room, along with a 1580. They are gonna both go up for sale sometime later this summer in case anyone is interested.
