C, E-flat, and G go into a bar. The bartender says, "Sorry, but we don't serve minors."
So E-flat leaves, and C and G have an open fifth between them. After a few drinks, the fifth is diminished and G is out flat. F comes in and tries to augment the situation, but is not sharp enough. D comes in and heads for the bathroom, saying, "Excuse me; I'll just be a second."
Then A comes in, but the bartender is not convinced that this relative of C is not a minor. Then the bartender notices B-flat hiding at the end of the bar and says, "Get out! You're the seventh minor I've found in this bar tonight."
E-flat comes back the next night in a three-piece suit with nicely shined shoes. The bartender says, "You're looking sharp tonight. Come on in, this could be a major development."
Sure enough, E-flat soon takes off his suit and everything else and is au natural. Eventually C sobers up and realizes in horror that he's under a rest. C is brought to trial, found guilty of contributing to the diminution of a minor and is sentenced to 10 years of D.S. without Coda at an upscale correctional facility.

Ron Carter playing at the Village Vanguard while I was...fungally enhanced was an impossibly sensually aural delight, as well was jamming once with Jaco. I swear, for that 45 minutes I never ever played better and never have since. I wish that we had taped it. Delmar Brown played keys with Rick ? (Louisiana drummer, rock fucking solid) on drums. Blissfully and graciously, Jaco took us all on a trip that day, with Delmar pulling things out of the ethers to quench my wanting soul and to blind me to everything but the moment at the tips of my fingers of a '64 creme Tele. Rick was my beating heat.

Thanks for the great post and your great chops.
Yes, definitely easier to seek forgiveness than to ask for permission, and I surely should of defaulted to this philosophy before communicating to Mark in my hopes of acquiring a pair. Now I must exercise my stoicism and listen that train a'coming, it's rolling down the bend....
On the noisy room scenario, could you have angled the VL37 so that the nulls ditched enough of the unwanted ambient sonics and relegate them to a lower floor? I was hoping to do just that if I ever get to bring it on home.

Wow. Johnkenn, that song really moved me from the first word to the last. I felt sadness, melancholy and nostalgia the whole way through to the end. Thanks. And yea, the rs124 sounds stellar and certainly supports your performance very, very well. I appreciate your sharing this piece. Thanks again.

Another Alto positive story involves an RE-20 that kicked the bucket (for why I have no real idea, they should last a goodly loooong time, maybe it was the coil) and was replaced after the two year warranty expired. That was really, really cool and totally unexpected. Thank you Alto.

Wow, a great song, sound and what seems a great time for all. Since I just won'the sacrifice a kidney I might just have to "settle" for the VL37 pair which has been said to be nearly as or equally blissfull, gorgeous and soul fulfilling as the pair you so artfully demonstrate. My only decision will be on which two channel shall I pair them up with. I do have a fairly modest budget, and the other consideration at this juncture would be that they also serve double duty as the anchor of my hopeful endeavor to both record small experimental ensembles in local venues as well as offer higher quality demo recording to singer/songwriters. Any hints, and thank you for sharing as you have helped me make my mind up about the Samars.
