Just got mine today. Rushed upstairs to try it out and holy crap, it is absolutely fantastic. Rich, thick lower mids with a very smooth and present top end. Fantastic in the range that I have problems in (1-3khz). I'm pretty dang blown away. Here's a little clip of me sing through it into a VP28LW. Gonna try some acoustic later tonight. Really thrilled with this.
I've got to pick a new song...it's the only one I can remember the lyrics to. Lol.

enjoy getting to know it; play some banjo through it then you'll know how smooth it is

Good sounding mic... little bit of low nasally thing going on, nothing that a db or two of cut wouldnt cure... really nice. Kudos cheers Wiz

Actually, didn't even think about that...I was probably 8-12 inches...So, better to get farther away with a ribbon? Honestly, I hadn't really intended it for vocals, but I'm definitely gonna try it. I didn't really get a "nasally" thing from it. Every mic needs a few cuts here and there.

that mic sounds killer! It's got amazing top for a ribbon, it'll take eq perfectly as well, its a figure 8 so it matters where you point the backside in your room, but the sides will do a sick job rejecting unwanted room boom and tizz, your S's have never sounded better than on this mic imo.

It's rare I've used anything but the mf65 for vocals since getting them.

Sounds a little nasal to me too. I'd love to shoot one of these out with my R121. How about you send that thing down to me for a week?

Really? I don't get nasal out of that file at all. Maybe rolled off and a darkish, but not nasal. I'm not taking offense or anything...just didn't hear that.

I guess I think of nasal as 800-2ish kHz. I hear a lot of 400 ish. But I would call that muddy.

I like that you use the same little bit of music over and over... I am used to it. James Lugo does the same thing, but one of his own! ... I've teased him about it, if he's ever going to finish writing it!

I listened this morning again with different headphones, and I don't hear the nasal as much. Probably just a mixture of the vocal harmonics and the headphones I was using.
I'd still love to shoot this out with the R121. Sounds pretty similar to it if I remember correctly. I could definitely use another good extended range ribbon for guitars.

I really, really like the sound of this mic (great voice too... )
$799 is a great price too, I wonder how it fares against the MF65?
