not my best 'sax day' but you get the idea what the mic sounds like on alto and tenor

Hey man - first, you sound fantastic. Killer tone and great chops! I was just listening with headphones - I'll listen upstairs later - but I really liked the VL37 on the alto...takes a little of the top edge off and makes it nice and velvety. I thought my VL37 sounded a LOT like that MK-U47 with the k47 cap...and this sounds a lot like this. Big bottom, exceptional velvety mids and rolled off a bit on top, but not nearly as rolled off as most ribbons. Great videos!

Good stuff NFChuck 8) yeah, it's newly surprising every time i hear one of Marks mics how almost "condenser" they are, just doesn't have that edge which is one of the things that i don't like about a lot of condensers, really great for your sax.

Nice review and playing, thanks for taking the time to put it up. The more I hear these mics the more I want one.

@nofilterchuck sounds excellent and the playing is great. The mic has a killer top end on your sax.

Thanks for the great post and your great chops.
Yes, definitely easier to seek forgiveness than to ask for permission, and I surely should of defaulted to this philosophy before communicating to Mark in my hopes of acquiring a pair. Now I must exercise my stoicism and listen that train a'coming, it's rolling down the bend....
On the noisy room scenario, could you have angled the VL37 so that the nulls ditched enough of the unwanted ambient sonics and relegate them to a lower floor? I was hoping to do just that if I ever get to bring it on home.
