Its not the switches. Mine doesn't have them, and I ordered June 29 2018, and I don't have it yet. I'm guessing these might be people who took up Stam on the 'publish a review' deal. I did hear from Camilla that I'm supposed to get it last week of this November and there was a delay due to more sturdy packaging they recently ordered to ship these in. We have never asked for somebody to leave a review before sending a piece We wait at least 3 months to contact clients asking if they can leave a review somewhere

I think we were theorizing on the reason(s) why there are at least a few people who say they ordered one of these in 2019 and got their item long before us who ordered in 2018. I don't claim to have any clue about this, just stabbing around in the dark.

I was also contacted yesterday asking if I'd like to add mastering switches to my unit, and offered half price. It concerns me that they would even contact me about that because I already added the mastering switches and paid $500 on 6/11/19.

OMG.. this Stam stuff is darn near comic. After waiting two years for some Stam gear my order finally arrived. Somehow my order got mixed up. It was a pair of SM58's and a pack of bologna. Just kidding, but I couldn't pass up the joke. Honestly, though, it is kinda refreshing, in an absurd way. They definitely are "businessy". The gear is really great stuff, and speaks for itself.
But really, they're like a hot girl that can get away with all kinds of nonsense. Yeah, Stam is like a hot girl that keys your car. No, who admits to keying your car, and then asks you to come pick her up at 2 am. ...and you get in the car and go get her.

.... then she calls you when you're already on the highway and tells you not to come, so you turn around and go home alone.
Then she calls again at like 3:30am and says she is sorry and wants to know if you can come again and pick her up at some strange hotel like an hour away and you say, "umm.. well, Sure!! I'll be right there."
and then...

The deal is that I had a few mastering switches left over and I wanted to get rid of them instead of having them at the lab. I am free to do so and I don't need to explain this to anybody else than the client I am offering it too. We agreed on a price on both ends and that price will be respected. Some of you got the 2,390 USD price and others the 3,490 USD and others even lower than 2,390 USD I believe I am free to offer my custom work at the rate I consider fair to a client if I have some left over parts.

On another note and to add to this: Our country (Chile) is facing very difficult times. The extreme violence that has taken place and riots has stopped us from working normal hours, many worker can't come in, production is slower than normal and parts from suppliers are taking twice as long to clear for customs, this on top of our currency losing 10% of it's value making everything more expensive for us to buy.
If I have to lower my hourly rate fees in half to secure an extra income to my business I will do so, I have to pay my workers despite all of these things and I don't intend of letting any of them go, specially during these times that they would make it impossible for them to find another job.
I don't see any ethical conflicts with this.

Stay safe Josh , look after your family, friends and staff first: business doesn’t come first in these situations.

I was told June of 2020. So I know and forget. Chill, you're way ahead of the game. Some day will come. I waited a year and a half for 1073s. I'll take your place if you're giving it up. I had to give it up. Maybe you can take my place. Now hopefully I'll get my refund this year!! They told me 10 days and it's been 14 days.

I have recieved my unit yesterday and already tried it on different tracks. I have also compared it to my Drip Fairchild and the UAD Plugin and so far I can say that the Stam is much deeper in the bass region than the software.

You can listen to the soundfiles I have made and decide for yourself. I would say the Stam is way closer to the Drip than both are to the UAD plugin.

After listening, $6900 stock price is very fair. Also its getting in reach of the Unfairchild, which I think is also something to consider. Pre-order is very nice to save some cash, but I'd probably have health problems stressing myself out if the wait took too long, and only because Josh is trying to hook everyone up. In a perfect world I'd have cash set aside and bite the bullet to grab the in-stock at $2k more, or Unfairchild. I really want something after hearing this thing though.

How many years does it take to ship an "in-stock" unit?? Seriously though, I'm not sure I'd take ANY 670 due to on-going maintenance issues and my turbulent issues with "tube" gear in the past. Especially with the copious amounts of tubes that a 670 takes - in stereo. For certain, I'd want a US based manufacturer with good customer service history though. I might be persuaded to try an Undertone unit if Eric twisted my arm. LOL
