One big plus for this "67 clone" will be the PS. From what I remember, when the Neumann 90's reissue came out David found that the only "non identical" part was the power supply and after a tweak it seems that he was able to get it to be exact.
BTW, is this what John Kenn was hinting about months ago?

Im looking forward to the bock 67 as well .. I've been chasing the u67 for awhile after hearing a few originals . I have two DIY u67s - one Max transformer One ami transformer . Very different sounding Mics . Just picked up the Bock U99 So far it is awesome, very balanced.

Wish I knew ( or maybe didn’t ) know the price ... I want this pup ASAP ... Wow 🤠 Bock is No bs, this is not a clone.. Love how he went straight to talking about the original’s legacy m, then rents the components/ circuitry/ and what makes the mic work and sound like it does! Unfortunately I have no where to listen to these mics or try them out without purchasing first

No one has made me horny for their u67-ish mics,

Yeah, I want to try one. I'm curious. I'm going to be checking out some vintage originals soon. Looking forward to hearing my MK U67 next to one.

I'm guessing that it's going to be between David's 251 and his 47 offering in price, we shall see...if it's cheaper than the 251 I'd be surprised.

Then i’d look at the Soyuz 0-17. First, it’s got a similar capsule design to a K67 and costs $3,500. I’d bet it’s comparable and likely better. I was at a shoot out and the 0-17 was picked over a vintage U67 by 20 pro engineers and producers blind.

Long shot, but anyone had a Soyuz and Max's MKU67 in the same room? Only the FET Soyuz unfortunately. That was more like comparing it to the U87.

The MK U67 was mine. The Soyuz FET was Martin John Butler 's through a dealer. The Soyuz would have been a good contender vs a U87. It was nice, but no reason to sell the MK U67 to get it, especially since it's built into my U87ai, so I don't need that kind of sound in my mic locker. I already have it. I haven't had the pleasure to try the Tube version.

Long shot, but anyone had a Soyuz and Max's MKU67 in the same room? I had the Soyuz 0-17 (tube), and the 0-11's for a week and did some tracks with them. later on, I got the 0-19 FET, which is identical to the 0-17, but no tube. So I'm fairly familiar with them. I also have long term experience with U87's and know them better than any mic. Vincent's Max Mod 87/67 sounds great. It's like a U87 on steroids, better than any U87 I've heard or used, completely a Neumann mic, not a "style of" thing. Ragan has a TLM 67 with the Max Mod, and his sounds even a little better that Vincent's, possibly from a tube change, I don't know why though. I attended a blind shootout with the the Soyuz 0-17, 0-19 FET, Vintage U67 and 87 in a good studio. There was a male and female vocalist. During playback for vocal tracks, no one knew which mic was being played back. The U67 sounded really good, but when the Soyuz 0-17 track was played, everyone's head turned and every single person had that"whoa" look on there face and said, " which mic is THAT"? The Soyuz won by a knockout, not a TKO where a few liked one, a few more liked the other. I'm most compatible with U67's, and my favorite vocal sound to date was a vintage U67, so I'd have to A-B the particular mics and choose a winner for myself if I had them both, but if sound quality was the only factor, my guess is I'd take the Soyuz. They're about the same price. With the Soyuz you get your own brand new mic with a warranty, with the Max Mod, classic Neumann sound. For studio owners, it's possible having the Neumann works for attracting clients. It may take a few years before the Soyuz's status is solidified. The Chandler REDD is the X factor here though. At $3,000 -$3300, you're getting one great sound. That's a lot of money, maybe the top of many people's budgets, but still, a lot to invest if something more expensive is better. When it comes to a U67, you're already at the pinnacle of mic production, so you can't go wrong really. The five greatest being, U47, M49, U67, C12, Elam 251. But the Chandler will stand next to those and likely be preferred by many, and costs $5,000. It really is like a magician blended qualities of the 47, 49 and 251, yet it's no Frankenstein, it really has its own sound once you get to know it.It's also the best acoustic guitar mic I've heard for tracks that feature an acoustic. You may of course want an SDC for strummy modern tracks, or maybe not. The omni mode isn't gimmicky, it really works, and I never liked omni. If I could afford it, I now have no doubt I'd just buy the Chandler. Having the EMI REDD preamp is a huge bonus. You can always use your own preamp, but the way it is is flawless. Knowing the Chandler exists, there no way I'd invest 3 grand or more in a Max Mod. If the quality of the Max Mod 67/87 could be had at $2,000 -$ 2,500, that might sway me if I had a tight budget because it's so good, and do I love that sound. * There were q few surprises in the shootout, people preferred the Soyuz 0-19 FET for acoustic over all of them, and the 0-13 is my preferred SDC over my former holy grail SDC, the KM84. John has the 0-13, maybe he'll give us his impressions. I'm grateful I have the Soyuz 0-19 for now, it's better than an 87 to me, and works well enough.

Not that I'm in the market but the TLM prices seem to have gone up. I've snooped around out of curiosity, and haven't seen one of these $1,400 TLM 67's in ages. Not saying it couldn't't happen, but maybe the market's changing.

Are you guys using the MK 67 for more than just vocals? Drums guitar etc. i'm demoing the U 99 bock microphone . It is really cool. Brighter than the original u67 but very versatile
