I'm really late to the party on this unit. I just heard a file of the wa76 along side other 1176 versions. My question to those who use the wa76 on a daily basis... do you find it pumps more than a urei 1176? In the shootout I did, the wa76 (file was sent to me) and another unit (hairball rev D) seemed to pump a lot more than my Urei rev A, D, F and the MC77. Thoughts? did notice same exact thing! WA76, the D as well as the UA1176 do pump quite a bit more than the rest in that shootout.

Moog now has it listed at $679. I guess we'll see if L&M and Economik follow. Cheers, Geoff

I wonder how long it'll take to arrive...

Hmmm. Debating between this and the Don's Blue stripe. I guess I'll have to download the comparison.

Hmmm. Debating between this and the Don's Blue stripe. I guess I'll have to download the comparison. You know it, I and everybody else knows it - get both! Joke aside, if the WA76 is more towards a rev D or later I think you'll want both eventually. When I compared my Purple and the U76 I felt they are a little different and both earn a place in the rack. The U76 a bit more dirty and colored, and...noisier... Could be that the WA is a bit more versatile, not?

Well, they're all sold now. For those of us who didn't get in the ground floor, we're going to have to wait. Dang it.

They are all sold to dealers true... but not all dealers are pre-sold out to users. There are some left... when they show up as "in stock" next week there will be some for the snatchin

hmm..so, one WA1176 can be used as a stereo mixdown compressor with the mod? No, it's just a way to stereo link a pair( unless I missed something HUGE!)

So is an 1176 style comp the type of comp you want on the mix buss...

Not sure if I'll use a 1176 on the mixbus. I like SSL style comps for that.

hmm..so, one WA1176 can be used as a stereo mixdown compressor with the mod? No, it's just a way to stereo link a pair( unless I missed something HUGE!) Correct. I'm to assume one will act as master and one as slave in this configuration. So for example the dials on the first compressor in the series will control both compressor values i.e. Input/Output/attack/realease. My question, is will it be switchable on and off to run in multiple mono?

I think your correct, I know on the stereo units I'm building(hairball), using the boards linked above, u have to set all the setting the same on both sides, then the input from the master side controls compression action on both sides...almost 100% sure on this
