Here's a track I used the WA 76 on the vocal as well. This song was not recorded by me nor did I have anything to do with the production, it was merely sent to me to mix and master. Posted here with permission. The reason I wanted to post this sample was that the vocal was recorded with a TLM 103 (which I largely consider a very sibilant mic and certainly not one of my favorites). It was also recorded through a cheap interface. The whole thing was sent to me pretty rough (being kind). Just a touch of console eq on this vocal and a bit of De-ess, then the WA 76. Should make for a decent example. I have recorded this girl before and her voice is challenging to record. I'm really digging this comp fellas, no shit. Warm Audio will sell a ton of these. BTW it's just a buss mix so the volume is low. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/65640533/Little%20Rock%20Buss%20Mix.mp3

It's very sparse too, which allows you to really hear all aspects of the vocal. I can hear the TLM103 in the sound... and I want to reach into the computer and rip that part out! Nice job with what you had to work it. The vocal does sound sanitized and I reckon there's some thickening in there from the WA76, not just dynamic control?

Yeah Ward, it really helped this vocal. I played around with some different compressors and honestly found this one to be the best savior. Didn't hit it too hard and used 8 to 1. Thickened it up some and smoothed it out..

Now that's saying something cowboy. Which other compressors did you check before settling on the 1176?

The compression on the vox sounds nice, smooth. Are you using alot of automation or is the Warm doing most of the work?

Bryce, when will these ship to Australia? I'm fairly confident Australia will have them around Feb 20th - 25th, the US should have them really soon, maybe even by next week.

Notched a bit out around 4.8 on the console and filtered below 60 (on the back end). Errm, that's it. Print.

Well, here's yet another amazing discovery. Did this quickly so don't shoot the vocalist. This vocal is through the WA76 with nothing on it as well but recorded through a slightly better path as was the previous post U 67/Heritage 73/Warm 76. No automation, no processing whatsoever except HPF on the strip at about 70. Again lightly hitting the input at 8 to 1. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/65640533/WA%2076%20Only.wav

Well, that's artifact free for sure. When you said "nothing on it", I don't quite know how you mean that.

Hmm I can't get a price on these in Canada but $599 us is sick! Studio Economik had it on their site for a couple of weeks at $649 (Canadian). Now it's gone, but I expect that's what they'll go with. Hopefully, L&M will have it for a bit less.

That's what that take sounds like as it was stored to the hard drive. Nothing on the mix strip coming back out except for HPF. And that was an ITB bounce for the example so it didn't go through my console.

Thank you, I keep forgetting to check Moog. Their prices are often a bit better than some of the bigger stores.

I'll talk to the guys at L&M and see where there at. Please let us know. But $649 is probably a little under 6 US given the dive our dollar has taken, so even at $649 we're actually getting a bit of a deal. Cheers, Geoff

I'm really late to the party on this unit. I just heard a file of the wa76 along side other 1176 versions. My question to those who use the wa76 on a daily basis... do you find it pumps more than a urei 1176? In the shootout I did, the wa76 (file was sent to me) and another unit (hairball rev D) seemed to pump a lot more than my Urei rev A, D, F and the MC77. Thoughts?
