Capi compressors sold out too. jsteiger ETA on bt50 litz and 526's? The comp's have been out of stock for a month or so. I have to update the silkscreen before I reorder. I'm a gonna make a few changes while its under the knife. I have been concentrating on the 3 new EQ's so will start looking at the comp soon. I have more 2503-Litz on order but they are 2-3 weeks out yet. The timing on those with the BT50 release did not go well. I do have a nice supply of standard 2503's on hand though  |

OK we are back up and running. Apparently the USPS was having some major trouble which took them 12 or more hours to sort out. Just checked the shipping calc's and it looks smooth! Got the rest of my Litz 2503's in as well.

These do sound great. My observations, not that I know what I am talking about or that anyone cares...
Drums -
The bottom on the 550 and 550a is huge. Wow. That is really sweet. The BT50s are very close, the panasonics being my favorite. The TDK seems maybe a little more musical, but the pans are more clear maybe? I doubt I could tell the difference blind.
The vintage units are a tad larger and more 3d/jumping out of the speaker at me, but its subtle. I would however love to hear the bt50s with the GAR2520 or red dots. The 1731s are smoother, but I want that ass-pounding API shiznizzle happening.
The 550a seems a smidge pokier than the old 550. Could be my imaginiation.
The modern API isnt bad really. It sounds a little harder and less open but it's close to the feel. Really curious if the other opamps in the bt50s would bring me closer to that "hammer in the forehead" kind of feel when I'm listening to the APIs on drums.
Unit 6 is... broken.
The LC25 has much more of a noticeable and pointy sound to it's EQ. It is nice, though. The 550 styles all seem to do things a little more gracefully.
Felt mostly the same with the vox. Didn't do the snare really. I need more than pops for my deaf ears to home in on differences.
A great accomplishment by Jeff - and I for one, am grateful that I have the option to get such a nice kit and have these EQ's in my home studio. Save money, have fun, and get a great result, perhaps closer to the vintage real deal, than otherwise. Can't wait to get mine... Need some EQ to man handle drums with for sure...

I listened again with closed back phones and I can really hear the lows better. The BT50s really do reach down. Sounds more like the 550a vintage. Nice. Hopefully I can snag one soon. |

popped em in the console next to vintage 550/550a's[all a little different].sonically they're kind of in between.winning.
knobs are way better than API.
all the pcb re issues are going bye.
