High Voltage Audio EQ6-S incoming. I can't seem to quit the Maag EQ4 plugin, didn't want to shell out the dough for the EQ4M, and I've heard nothing but good things about this unit so excited to give it a try! Also, an AKG C34. This and my C422 I think will have me covered on stereo microphones (unless a deal comes around on a SM69 haha)

A Bunch of small crap for live, I love my Audix / MBHO calibrated TR40, but using it with the IPad means using an interface so I broke down and ordered one of the Mini DSP USB with its individual calibration file from Cross Spectrum Labs. $110 bucks to make life easier and the IPad battery should last longer SOLD. I found a great Deal on a BSS FDS380, this is the install version of the OMNIDRIVE, but this version can only be programmed by either a BSS388 or via a Windows 98 computer via midi or preferably Serial port, so I bought a used $50 Compaq windows 98 laptop with Serial port.
I have been looking for the perfect internet switcher and WiFI router for live and this journey continues.

Haven't 'deployed' or 'employed it yet tho. ALSO Picked up an MXR tremolo pedal. This thing is a killer! 6 different modes, speed and depth on each. Overall gain button is a great option

I'm having filter month too with this Elta Music Polyvox filter and sending stuff into my Moog Matriarch for stereo filtering and delays.

I'm having filter month too with this Elta Music Polyvox filter and sending stuff into my Moog Matriarch for stereo filtering and delays. I managed to get it for 800 euros, which is reasonable considering other listings on Reverb ! I lowballed, and got lucky I guess. The polyvox filter, I'm getting it with a weird but exciting combination : the Waldorf Pulse1+, augmented with Virtual Music "Russian Filter" & "selector" mods onboard. Basically this combo gives the operator a polyvox multimode mean sounding filter, with full midi control, mod matrix capabilities. You use the audio in of the Pulse1+ to treat external sources. You can still use the mod matrix, env, midi control etc. A treat ! Look it up, it's just phenomenal, and it transforms the Waldorf Pulse1+ into a characterful filter. But if you're not into Midi controlled filters, the Elta Music module you have, it is straightforward & top notch, too. Me, I'm just a MIDI freak. The Akai MFC42, well, you know it, it's a wonderful tool for filtered electronic music. Having several units = creative buss filtering.

I'm always a bit shy posting here, as my studio is a very modest home/project studio, without a Neve or API anything in sight, but I am pleased to have picked up a Roswell K67.
I'd used one previously and it beat out a vintage U67 for the song at hand, so I knew I'd end up with one. I still find, as I did when I first tried the mic, that it requires more fussing than the K87 on my very variably nasal voice, but when it fits, it sits.

We're one class of people here. We're all learning. And you know what I've learned? The more I've learned, the more I realize I don't know. I would never expect a K67 to beat out a real U67, but anything can happen! A 441 can beat out a U87! Heck, once I heard an SM7 beat out a U87... of course that was in a live off the floor guide vocal application, so relax chessparov, the sky isn't falling! Why couldn't the K87 beat out a K67? Horses for courses! The mini K47 et al are pretty cool microphones as well. Most recently, a bunch of Lauten Ls-308s have supplanted my team of able U89s on tom-tom mic'ing duties.

When I was living in the UK, the band I had at the time was prepping to do our first album. The bassist and I were co-producing. He was far more established in the music world than I was, certainly. His idea for the record we were making was to take the essence of what I did and make it "more posh and polished." He was British, polite and diplomatic. I was a "young American" and had been raised on 4-tracks and SM57s. There were a few moments where I was determined to keep my scratch tracks - piano or vocal, usually. I knew I'd nailed THE take etc., but our agreement was that we'd always give something I'd done at home a second shot in the studio. It worked out well. Sometimes we did keep my Rode-rec'd vox, sometimes the U87 was where the magic got captured. The studio had a very nice Yamaha grand, but I think it only once made the cut. The ratty little Silberman I had at home, with its weird metallic overtones, is the main piano on the album we made.

I just picked up a Km56, very excited! I was suppose to pickup a pair but one mic was faulty when I arrived. Probably the capsule so needs to be reskinned but reskinned sounds great so that's not an issue. Two is always better then one 😂 ibb.co/5sKW72K

Locomotive gear is so underrated. I just do not understand why they do not have a Lionel and HO series. Anyway, their 286a is such a glorious tube pre. I would love to have a couple weight tank comps.
