Is that essentially the same as a 269? Thanks, Chris Depending on which SM69, it may share a capsule and tube but I'm pretty sure they are 2 very different circuits. Not 100% sure on the capsule(s) though. I always thought the sm69 was more like two U67's. This line of questioning might turn nasty though, I've seen this comparison between these aforementioned mics turn ugly- fast! I bow to the wisdom of others on this one, I've gotten to use an SM69 and have only ever seen the FET version

Well iI’ve had 2 tube and 2 fet so far and I preferred them to 67’s & 87’s by quite a bit so I’m not sure about the circuit. I have a mint SM69 tube that is like NOS. They are still so underrated, people go for C24’s which I sold as it wasn’t as deep as a C12. Nice though. Silly money now.

I think that’s cheap compared to other vintage Neumann’s or C24’s.

I do remember those Audioscape movies, with Kurt Rustle...
New York and LA2A.

My latest gear is that surround plugin.. but also I’m excited that I have a new space! It’s gonna be a decent little project studio I can write and mix in. I’m in the middle wiring things and doing speaker checks. It’s been too long .. Feels so good

Omg y'all, just snagged an excellent condition WesAudio Beta76 on Reverb for $750 (incl. tax + shipping). 🤯
Came last night and it is truly satisfying all of the 1176 dreams I've had over the years. First time with a Rev F type so maybe that's just the sound I've really heard in my head this whole time, but man, I like it heaps more than any of the other 1176 clones I've owned (only 3 others but still lol).

Picked up a 70’s era Ampeg B-15N very cheap. It’s going to need some TLC but fingers crossed it won’t break the bank getting it up and running

Seems to be a lot of nice USA Fender Strats being cleared off at the moment where I live. Took an opportunity to pick up a time machine condition 50th anniversary one from 2004. Plays like butter.

Izotope RX10. Didn't know i needed one before I took on a restoration and remastering project from an old vinyl with all tapes lost. This plug is amazing with all that it carries. Made the job bearable and the outcome was better than i’d actually imagined.

Chandler Mini Mixer Expander used, destined for keyboards and a couple of UTA MPDI-4's that I'll pair with the PyraSum in my new room. Going all in and I'm a fan of where Eric's head is at.
Also picked up the Coil Audio phantom box.
