I will for sure. If they dick around though with the royalty payouts I'll be done.

I buy CD's if I like the band. I've never done it any other way and never will.

Attempted to claim my artist account, still waiting on that and will be definitely doing the trial. I'm an Rdio user currently. Not really sure how this model is sustainable but I also find it annoying having to buy storage for files so I prefer streaming and hate all physical formats with a seething passion from both an artist and fan standpoint.

Levon, Mobeach and I are old school When I have time to listen, it's an active process. Sit down, get a drink, dim the lights and pay attention to listening. Nothing better than reading the liner notes/album jackets while doing so. Best with vinyl, harder with CDs, impossible with streaming. It's a lost art.

I'm an anti-stuff person, I'm moving in a few months I have a bed, a MacBook, iPad, iPhone, Antelope Zen, Focal CMS40s, backpack full of mics, two guitars, two pairs of jeans and that's all. I don't clutter shit up whatsoever. I own a couple select albums on Vinyl but I get uncomfortable with too many things around me.

a whole generation of people who have never experienced the simple joy of staring at an album cover for an entire listening session, letting your mind wander, imagining what the artists looked like, who they are? Bringing the cover to your nose and smelling that ink that is so indelibly linked to album covers, resting it on on your chest and slowly drifting away by the warm crackle of vinyl, with all kinds of sound induced imagery dancing in your head... drifting... drifting..... falling... BLLLLAAAAMMMMMM!!! "imagine she's a pretty nice girl, but she doesn't have a lot to say"
Us old guys are lucky, the new school gets Kanye West mp3's and fishsticks haha 8)

CD's make all the sense in the world to me, I can put it in my PC, Home stereo, car stereo, friends home or car stereo. If you buy an mp3 you have to put in onto a CD yourself. If I want an mp3 I'll rip it.

EDIT: Hey! Post 1000! I think I'll pour a Stella in celebration.

Most of my cd's have been ripped to mp3 and the physical disks are sitting in my mom's basement somewhere. I'd rather have the space for an extra amp than have to store disks.

The physical storage space is laughable, go buy a terabyte drive for $7 and enjoy 7 million tunes at 44.1 over MP3 ... Jeez mon..

Still, that doesn't give me access to my library while at work or driving.

Well, I decided I am gonna throw myself at this as an artist, full on.
I am gonna give it a real good run, see how it flies.
My hard copy album sales are literally in double figures for this year... I got to do something
cheers

I got itunes match because I was tired of obsessing over what albums to sync to my phone.
I'll try this too because it will force me to listen to new music, and I hope it will prove to be the least evil of the streaming options.

What will the stream quality compare to in a file sense? If that makes "sense"?
