From first look at GCPRO: AVID Pro-Tools 12 The newest edition of Pro Tools is here and ready to once again redefine the music, film, and TV industry, providing everything you need to compose, record, edit, and mix audio. Pro Tools 12 is available as a standalone software or available for subscription.

Is there link with this? I am dubious. There's a post on GS as well, in the NAMM 2015 thread. Appears to be legit.

The only way I'm upgrading is if Avid pulls the I/O limit off standard Native systems, which I think is a total joke it has to stay at 32 I/O.

Hmmm...although working in the cloud sounds delicious...it would certainly be nice to have it uploading to the cloud as you put it down...

Is that all you get from 12? Basically, some cloud stuff, an app store, and a market to sell your music? I'll keep my $200 or whatever and stick with 11 for now.

jK now your getting with the program its actually less than a coffee a day but its the pressure and lack of clarity which frustrates But on pt xpert today they posted a leaked sign up for 12 page from avid and apparently there is a non subscription option which means you can buy 12 outright ?

that rather vague description has me scratching my head? i'm personally not interested in a single one of those features, are they going to offer some real user features or continue to ham us with more BS? Have they ever heard of dropbox? I bet the expanded storage on DB is way cheaper than their subscription? The piss off here is we still don't know anything, they've blabbered more and still said absolutely NOTHING.

If they come out with their prices and what not, and they aren't , and they save some face? I may just jump to PTHD, why not, it has more features on top of what i already like, and from what i've read it sounds better lol 8)

From a Steinberg guy, all I can do here is send you my regrets for still using that program. Why are you guys choosing to have your pockets ripped off out of dedication to PT? I just don't get it. Because 'all the studios I use" have it? OMF is my friend and I can open anything anyone sends me. Its time to use other programs whether it be a Steinberg product or something else. Native plugs and computers are too powerful now to continue to be punished like this.

If I learned anything in the past two years from being a heavy Adobe user, it's that once a software service moves to subscription pricing, they have no need to add new features. So don't worry that you'll be missing out on big new features in PT12/13/14 if you don't subscribe, because there won't be any big new features for at least the next five years. There are only two new features I'd like to have which have been added to the Creative Suite since I bought CS6 in early 2012. Hmmm...although working in the cloud sounds delicious...it would certainly be nice to have it uploading to the cloud as you put it down... This is really easy. Just get a bunch of cheap space from Dropbox, Google Drive, Onedrive, etc and put the sync folder on the drive which holds your sessions and samples. Then put the folders where you save your sessions and samples inside the Dropbox/Onedrive folder and set it to sync automatically. Voila, instant cloud sync as you record. I get 1TB of OneDrive storage with my MS Office, so I just put the OneDrive folder on my storage volume and save right into it from my DAWs. That way I can record/arrange on my rig at home at night, and then when I get to the office in the morning all my new work is right there ready to be opened on my office system.

I bought 11 when it first came out and it works well. I didn't and don't see the point of the subscription service so am unlikely to sign up but i believe we have till march of 2016.
TONY on pt xpert people think hd is not stand alone just a misintetpretation ?

TONY on pt xpert people think hd is not stand alone just a misinterpretation ? at this point they'd be long past foolish not to release the best of what they have to anyone who wants to pay for it, with all the bad PR they just got, if they can't figure that out, they truly are living on borrowed time, BUT! someone will still needs to rise up and pull the crown off their head, and I haven't seen anyone who's ready to do that yet... and not from a lack of looking.

Other than that i have to agree with you. Cubase looks killer right now. Reaper has been excellent for me and some great new features are coming up with Reaper 5. The new Logic with VCA's looks very very cool...some very nice options right there. Even sonar is supposed to be stable now!;-)
