if I had your kind of time, I would go through them and drop them here. I am way too busy today for that.

You're a beautiful player and no doubt a decent guy. We'll just have do agree to disagree over what's at the root of our country's problems. There are plenty of other places on the internet to argue about politics. Maybe we should all agree to make RGO a politic free zone.

John was a very successful business owner and entrepreneur BEFORE he married his "rock star" (his words) wife. Together they have built the largest most comprehensive studio complex on this earth. So what if he has 20 251's. Good for them and more power to them! I am a fan of what they do and hope they never stop. I'm quite certain he could give 2 shits about all the negative stuff people are saying about him.

Petty? You tried to call me out, dude. By posting what you did, you are rebutting what I have said and attempting to devalue my words. What were you expecting exactly? You do realize you are defending the antics of those people slandering that video, right? As I said before, I don't have time to show you what was said. Maybe you can research that instead and see where your opinion lies.

The YouTube comments aren't that bad, it's the comments on the Pensados Facebook page which are out of line. They call it "tall poppy"-ism down here in NZ (as in, have to cut the tall poppies down to size). Shameful.

It's sad is what it is. I think I will go over to Blackbird rental and rent something for Mondays tracking even though I don't need to, just to combat the ignorance.

I don't think that one gets to leave the mic locker there unless it has to go to Sinsay's place!

I don't think that most of the commenters realize that Blackbird is a full studio complex and rental house. It's not like he's got 25 of these in his basement studio.

And....I would love to know where you can a 251 for $10k. I would think more like $20k these days!!
Funny enough, McBride had nothing to do with this video. How many 251's are on this legendary kit?

Did you guys know that the Mavericks used nearly 251's exclusively on their "In Time" record? In was done at Blackbird also.

Every top studio I've ever been in had 20 or 30 high end mics. Usually a mix of classic Neumann's, a few newer Neumann's a C12 or two in a drawer, a bunch of SDC's, batches of SM57's, a few RE20's and occasionally a 251 or two. So, he likes the 251 so much that he's invested in them instead of mixing it up as much as other studios. well, so what? That's what this audio production game is all about, getting what you need to get the sound that's in your head! I find it inspiring when anyone actually gets there, whatever kind of mic it takes.

...just as a side note, I posted this thread with the sole intent of paying due respect to both Shannon Rhoades and John McBride, and their combined efforts to maintain the heritage of these revered tools of the trade...the fact that this thread has slid into a sociopolitical pool of sludge makes me regret posting it in the first place... ...are we really having a discussion fueled by Facebook posts?...seriously... Most of the usual suspects are there just not listed, I also know a couple of manufacturer s and reps leave stuff there so they can say. " the guys over at Blackbird have a couple and love them" But then There are people who call me the John Mcbride of Cheap dynamics!
