lolo. You should be fine with the 220V transformer, the voltage regulators in the unit will be a little bit hotter, nothing else. Should be no problem at all.

Reason for asking as their one on the purple sit for sale. Good price , but in the U.S , prob 110 V. Can maybe use a step up coverter to 240v , or it that a bad Idea?
Thats what i'm doing with my Mr816

Or maybe I should just buy a new 220 v unit from Ross they're so cheap, it hardly seems worth losing the protection youd get from buying it from Ross, IMV T

A step-up transformer will be fully ok. Cheap and should be trouble-free as anything. No degradation.
Best regards, Martin

Ross ought to take the profits from a few 4222's and hire someone to make sense of that mystery maze he calls a website! haha His website is crazy confusing . But once you figure it out , it actually makes sense . So I can see why Ross probably thinks his website is fine . But until you crack the mystery of how its laid out , it is confusing .

His website is perfectly fine. It repulses people who think it is an unsafe business. Otherwise you would have to wait years for your units because of hundreds of hifi áudiophiles per month. This is the charme of a small business. The manual page i got was put in a nice envelope, Mabry has a very nice handwriting: "Manual" on it and signed the funny "universal" DAC manual. Sometimes she obviously had problems with the emails, making carriage returns and stuff...like on a typewriter. Somehow you are touched and smiling the same time how they run their small business as oldschool as it gets. Internet is obviously not their generation, but they try to do their best for sure.... And the products might look kind of cheap and are very affordable but sound great - no need for a better webpage. They already have more than enough to do with the orders they got despite their website design...

Guys thanks for all the help.
One last thing though, anyone know what wattage the Ross Martin units draw? Considering buying the one on sale, down feel like waiting 2 months.
Just have to see what step down transformer to get

Anyone try his "Silent Knight" mic pre ??

The "Silent Knight" is based on THAT Chips throughout, THAT1512 pre. The National Opamp doesn't color, too. So it will be just quiet, crisp, clean and transparent gain. Heard those chips already when they came up.

Shoot , I have a guitar amp I've been thinking of selling . If I did , I'd get The Ross A/D converter and the Silent Knight mic pre and that would be my drum overhead chain . VERY TEMPTING !

Heard those chips already when they came up. BR Martin You can also order it with Audio Upgrades PIP modules installed in place of the mic pre chips. That offers lower noise, faster slew rate and greater bandwidth, along with .0002% IMD and .0006% THD.

hey scum, can't speak to the sound, but judging by the specs, it's probably really fast, clean, and transparent, i want one of jims stereo high speed mic pre's, the spec sheet on that is scary good, i want to try it with my pair of ribbons for overheads. here's a link, it also has the "pip" upgrade info on the page. audioupgrades.com/default.htmT

Who has the DAC? I need to upgrade now that I have my Neve in the studio and a new monitor control and monitors. I also am looking for 32 channels of DA equal to my BLA 002 sig or better. Thoughts? I don't want to spend 7k to get that.

PM smallbutfine, he speaks highly of it, as does jim williams, I think the wait is pretty long? the orion 32 spec'd out better than its paper, on a thread i read somewhere? 2,900$. I will be testing this soon i hope, if i don't like it as much as my BLA digi 002, back she goes(honesty can't imagine it being as good) congrats on your Neve Dan!!!
