I did a quick check looking for the Studer A800 and found it on sale for $49. A lot of UA plugins on sale now if you are waiting for the deals. Seems like most well known vendors as well as UA site have the deals.

$49 is a good price, plus if you have sharc chip hardware already you get uad2 and uadx, so can run host or native.

Ohhhh the Studer thread. I was gonna post specifically about this sale.
This is the first time it’s kinda rubbed me the wrong way…knowing that I paid hundreds for all of these plugs and now they’re 75% off. Oh well.

that's what's crazy lately. One day they are having a sale where something is $149, and then next week it is on sale again for $29. I will never buy another plugin from them unless it is $29 (or maybe $39). Seriously.
Waves can't sell anything ever again for over $29 either - or at least I hope nobody pays more than that. They'll WUP you in the end though. At least UA hasn't tried that yet (then I'd be done - just like Waves).

UAD want to compete with Waves and Plugin Alliance but Waves has more utilitarian plugins and some really weird stuff like Kramer Tape and Plugin Alliance has some unique things like Pro Audio DSP DSM, Phil's Cascade, and Neold Big Al and Wunderlich which are one off pieces of hardware just to be modeled into weird plugins.

There is a 30 day demo. Free, through UA connect.
I'll be honest, I am not loving it on the drum buss. At least not with the 3 tunes I have tried it on. It did sound great on a Nylon guitar though. One unfortunate thing, UA connect will not load plugins if you are not connected to the Internet. It runs Polymax, but not plugins. At least not demo trials.
As a Windows user, running offline is often very useful!

You should be able to manage your ua authorizations so they are not cloud based .

In this case maybe I can convince Johnkenn to test and comment on some of the TC Electronic plugins they ported over from the 6000 I'd like to grab but they're damn expensive. Sold old code gold. |

I'm tracking with them on my Apollo most of the time, so I wanted it as a normal UAD plugin. I did a bunch of tests comparing all my API console with all the UAD stuff and Luna summing. The EQ's were the one wild card where I could never tell a difference between the hardware and the plugins. I ended up selling my API 550b's because it was so close to the one on the API Channel strip plugin, but always wanted the 3 band plugin. |
