I didn’t have the standalone API EQs, so they got me on that one… Demo'ing now. Really good deal. I'm also a Precision EQ superfan and it's $39 right now.

API Vision channel strip has become a go-to for me, especially on drums and guitars.

Thinking of finally grabbing the 1176 collection. I have the IK and Purple PA versions but the UAD really seemed to have something special when I had Spark, especially the Blue Stripe paired with their LA2A. Am I crazy?
Added: and I have all the TDR compressors, etc…

Just got email offer for Helios at $2.99. Is this the end of Universal Audio?

With all these deals the Spark subscription is now looking extremely overpriced.

Oh I think this is what’s going on although it looks like the regular plug-in in my cart.
“Already own the Helios UAD-2 version, click here to purchase the native only version for $2.99”

With all these deals the Spark subscription is now looking extremely overpriced. That's why I only paid for a month, and after that said I'd wait on perpetual native licenses and sales. It took a little while but we're here.

Oh I think this is what’s going on although it looks like the regular plug-in in my cart. “Already own the Helios UAD-2 version, click here to purchase the native only version for $2.99” I believe that what you're seeing is part of UA's new policy on native ports of existing DSP plugins. The new policy basically states that, if you don't claim your license for a new native port (of a DSP version that you already own) within the first 30 days of release of the native port, it'll cost you $2.99 to redeem that port at a later date. It has something to do with liabilities on the books for native licenses that go unclaimed for prolonged periods of time. There was kind of a dust up over this whole thing over on the UAD forum a while back. help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/13210615648404-FAQ-Native-UAD-Plug-Ins

So, only owners of the uad2 Helios can buy the port uadx plug for $2.99? I don’t think I knew this was uadx, I had it before and didn’t use it much, but If I can get it for $2.99, just for the eq, that’s good value.

It’s on sale for $39 and you get uad2 and uadx.

Idk to me it looks like UAD no longer has value at that price.

Are you saying the value of a plug in is it’s price ?
Come on , the value is in its sound, features and utility.

I'm genuinely perplexed by the thought process that resulted in this conclusion.

I don’t think I knew this was uadx, I had it before and didn’t use it much, but If I can get it for $2.99, just for the eq, that’s good value. You're not buying it for $2.99. If you already own the DSP version, the native version is free. The $2.99 comes in if you didn't register your free native license in the first 30 days after the native version is released. The native version is still "free", it just incurs a $2.99 handling charge, if you will, for those that don't register the free license until after the 30 day window. So the $2.99 that is being seen in the shopping cart has nothing to do with any kind of sale. It would have shown as $0.00 in your cart if you had redeemed the license in the first 30 days. I don't remember when the native version of the Helios was released, but it's definitely been longer than 30 days, hence the $2.99.

Man, I'm not a pile it on guy, but between the 11-day two email response around my UA OX not working anymore I'm on the tip of just bagging on the UA stuff. So frustrating.
And if you want to compile that frustration, just login to UA's site, go to your account and pull up past orders and just let the emotions roll when you see all those dollars spent. Talk about pissing off your base. Sealed.
Everyone else, please enjoy the sale, lol.

Pretty sure I paid $300 for the Studer plug. And the list goes on and on. Still use the stuff I bought, but such a head shaker now. And where's that guy Drew @ UA? Would be great to hear some passive aggressive comments!

Enjoying some of these UA deals. Previously, with the exchange rate, I wouldn’t even look at UA – completely unaffordable for a hobbyist when you’re paying 1.5x the USD price 😅
Have picked up the essentials, pultecs, 1176 and 2A collections.
Also got the softube essentials on the basis of liking their DBX plug-in when they were giving it away for free recently.
Missing a decent verb. I have VVV but often find it a bit too “hey I’m a reverb!”, any recommendations from the UA shop? I should probably go read the other thread on reverbs…

That’s what I said a few year’s ago, when UA started these inequities, letting lapsing subscribers who had paid like $100 buy Ultimate 11 for under 2 grand : crickets at UA forum other than Drew implying I was out to lunch. Eventually, UA came up with the great idea of letting long term heavily invested clients pay even more to buy more plug ins, missing the mark entirely on the fact they had already paid way more then the lapsed subscribers. Welcome to UA’s way of rewarding you: it’s most loyal clients: now just cherry pick, the lowest price you see.

Would be great to hear some passive aggressive comments! Yup, I'm right there with you!! I paid tons of money for plugins that are super cheap now. This is the race to the bottom the market is demanding.
