Think I'm gonna have Shannon talk a swing at a K47 cap for mine. I can always put the blue line back in if I want. Who knows, maybe I'll like Shannon's cap so much I can sell the Blueline. ...or sell the mic back to Tony, and go the M269 route...ask Shannon what I'm talking about...

Will do. I love that this one is an "exact-ish" replica, though. I've yet to see any other Neumann mic bodies replicated.

I've yet to see any other Neumann mic bodies replicated. ...this is somewhat close...same body being used by the DIY community for U67/U87/M269 clones...give this one to Shannon for final voicing: rmsaudioworks.com/RMS269.php...well-respected mic restorer/builder Robert Sestili's take on the M269...when the 47 doesn't nail it, I find the M269 more versatile...very smooth and big sounding...like a U67 with more air and top-end articulation... Here's the totally unnecessary, yet somewhat entertaining un-boxing video:

NO capsule I've tried (with the exception of a K67 I use for testing) has any degree of sibilance in these mics. It's like they have built in De-essers. ...and wouldn't you know, USPS would lose Dany Bouchard's D7 prototype in the mail… I'm waiting on mine as well

I'm feeling the convertible head transformation...maybe a 67/269 head and then I can keep the Blueline.

I shot mine out with my Shannon Rhoades voiced D-M269c clone...And the verdict? ...they clearly share a very similar voicing...Shannon's take is a more classic version, very smooth and rich sounding, while Robert Sestili's version sounds a bit more modern and shiny...I think the M269c variation on the U67 is an often overlooked option, and maybe one of the more versatile vocal mics (on both male and female voices) along with the ELAM 251...these two takes on the M269c are my current favorite vocal go-to choices...big props to Dany Bouchard, Shannon Rhoades and Robert Sestili...

...I received a pair of Dany Bouchard's prototype D7 capsules a few days ago and dropped one off at Shane's (Cat5) for testing in an MK-U47 build...first impression is that Dany has a real contender here...after Shane does some tests in comparison to the Thiersch options, he will mount it in my D-M49b so I can do some testing...hopefully we will have some VO samples and maybe I can get a singer on it in the next week or so... ...both the capsule and the mounting ring are very high-quality...comparable in build quality to the Thiersch product...the "mad scientist" has done it again! Great post Kid, Shane. No doubt, that's a contender. I'm a little sensitive to sibilance these days, as I've had issues getting rid of it myself. My first impression is there's plenty, or even more heft in the low end compared to the Thiersch, but the highs seem a pinch edgier.

t's and s's are a big pronounced over the rest, not bad at all, i wonder how far off the mic Shane was? i can hear a lot of room as well. Dany is a smart guy, i'm sure these will end up being quite competitive out there.

Side note...Dizengoff D4 is awesome paired with the mk-u47 for male Bari-tenor voice and acoustic guitar! going through serpent splice and diy la-2a.

Dany is a smart guy, i'm sure these will end up being quite competitive out there. That capsule was smooth but had a little Tizz to it. He's worked it out in the next sample and we will re-test from there. Build looks great so I have high hopes for these. I was about 10" off and yes, it is a reactive room. Wood floors and all. It's not there yet but DB isn't quitting until it's there. It's already a very nice capsule though.
