Hey guys! Considering the recent rumors about the m49 Reissue I think it will be interesting for you to look at this video. This mic looks like a brand new M49 and the shockmount also looks brand new! Neumann added this video to their page. "Sennheiser sessions"  |

This mic looks like a brand new M49 and the shockmount also looks brand new!
The cable stands out more than anything. Same style cable/connector as the U67 RI, except the knurled piece is slightly longer.

Anyone know what tube is likely to be used on the M49 reissue? If I recall, it was going to be a limited reissue. If that is true, it may be because of the tube.

If truly nos ac701k tubes, that’s definitely explain a limited run… But I still don’t think it’s worth-while for Neumann with only a run of 100 or anywhere remotely close to it! And even if does turn out that small of a run, it doesn’t matter to me. They’ll sell out within hours to those with some deep pockets. That counts most everyone out! That’d be some poor decision making!

At this point, I don't see how they could release it with an ac701k. If they do, they've got a big stash, as they are getting almost as rare as VF14's. If they don't have the ac701k's, they are just a clone, and I'm not interested for the price they will invariably bring.
To be blunt - great M49's are THE mic that I would do just about anything to procure...... A modern one with ac701k would be the mic release of this century.

Well I just purchased two NOS AC701's . One cost 550 Euro and the other with Neumann makings on it cost 650 Euro and those are bargain prices these days.
It doesn't have to be a reissue. I have been at Neumann Berlin and they have some immaculate NOS vintage mics but I agree that connector is not vintage.

I have a Bock 49 “Custom Shop” that has a AC701K tube. I *think* you can order them directly from David. |
