I'm not interested any longer. It's a different marketplace now, and the competition is FIERCE! And really great too.....
WT, A-S, etc. Lots of great stuff with awesome support out there.
I wish him the best though.

i found their support to be very poor. so poor the studio i used found it easier to walk away from resolution after more than a year.
after witnessing that id never buy from them.
others may have had different experiences.

Understood but was that over the last year or so, is it seemed he quietly shut the business down. I had had excellent support previously.

A 500 series plate reverb. I will bet my lunch money that it does not sound like an 8X4 sheet of metal.

How come dudes from Chicago, Philly or New York always gotta somehow work in *telling* you that they're from there? "The New Chicago Sound"?

I think the plugins will sound BETTER. There's no way you're recreating a plate reverb in a 500 format. Plus, do you really want whatever sort of little plate it has inside there being exposed to all of the typical sound vibrations you'd have in a control room?

Not really. I don't use plugins. I did notice that they have one of the most singularly information-free websites of any audio gear maker I've encountered - they tell you NOTHING about their products except a bit of sales fluff. Bad sign.

Matt is extremely knowledgeable and was very helpful when they were in operation in the past... I had some issues with my unit, that had me skiddish to pick up more stuff. I think unfortunately they had some QC issues that really set them back.

I have a feeling it’s not a physical plate reverb but a DSP thing. Maybe I’m wrong.

Understood but was that over the last year or so, is it seemed he quietly shut the business down. I had had excellent support previously. it was when the company was in full swing. they sold compressor that could be Stereo linked but neglected to mention that was not possible because the gain tolerances between units were all over the place. on top of that they changed revisions and didnt change names so you could buy 2 units for stereo use that had different circuits and again different gains by 5db or so. in the wnd their spin on marketing and qa was left wanting in my friends situation. when he approached them for a fix they were not able to correct things.

I have a feeling it’s not a physical plate reverb but a DSP thing. Maybe I’m wrong. I don't see how it possibly could be. Even the "miniature" EMT gold foil plate was nowhere near small enough to fit in a 500 module. And I think it's pretty deceptive advertising to call this module a "plate reverb" - unless, of course, it's just the control unit for an actual plate that sits in some other location, like your garage? But somehow I really doubt that.
EDIT: Yes, it's DSP. Boo!

BTW, if anybody from Diesengoff happens to be around PLEASE be aware that there actually are people in the audio word who DO NOT INSTAGRAM and really dislike Farcebook as a vehicle for transmitting useful information. If you post it on Instagram or FB I won't see it and neither will a number of audio people I know.

read from some 'not so happy customers', that even though units sounded great, the products had quality control issues, and they pretty much abandoned their customers for any repairs, NO THANKS!
