As much as I loathe spending money on plugins, the deals are really good right now, plus a voucher. What are the must haves? How’s the SSL Channel Strip compared to UAD? E or G? What about this Phil’s Cascade saturation plug?

I really dig the console plug ins, N, SSL E & G. I think they are right up there with UAD and I can run as many as I'd like without worry about DSP chips. They are also some of the few AAX DSP plug ins available so that's always nice to get some vibe going during tracking if you're in a situation where there isn't much outboard available.

I agree on the consoles. I use those all the time, especially the E on drum tracks. ADPTR AUDIO Metric AB is super useful for comparing reference tracks. Masterdesk is handy for a quick rough master when the artist wants to leave with something louder than the non-mastered roughs. The Townhouse buss comp is also nice as well as the Opto compressor. I own most everything they make, but those are the ones I use on every mix. I've spent way too much money with PA on plugins that I just never use, but the ones I listed are used a lot. I keep getting sucked into "great" deals. I'm sure everyone is similar. I rely on maybe 20 of the 200+ plugins I've bought from various vendors.

+1 with the console plugins , I seem to use the sslG the most . Ive only had the Acme comp a few days and finding a lot of uses for it .

I’ve been thinking of grabbing the SPL Transient Designer Plus. I use the UAD version a lot but this seems to have some nice bells and whistles. Also eyeing the Elysia nvelope.
Has anyone ever compared the E Console to the Softube Console 1? I’ve been thinking about grabbing that for my home mix rig and putting that on every channel but the Brainworx would definitely be cheaper (all be it without a controller)

It's a go-to of mine for all sorts of things.

Not sure what's on sale today, but bx_townhouse and bx_subsynth are nice additions if you can get them cheap.

Transient Designer Plus "works" it's great.
I love the Elysia compressors and EQ's
Just got Townhouse but I'm into it.
Opto is pretty nice, I got it for free so I took it for granted for a while, starting to use it.
Lindell Channel X works, Lindell 254e (neve diode compressor) is fantastic on guitars and drums
2098 "Amek" EQ is very nice
bx Digital V3 is a pretty special EQ
I am trying to spend a few bucks right now too
probably missed something
most of these plugins are very high quality, up there with the best plugins from any brand
oh I forgot, bx_tuner is one of the worst of all time tuners I have ever "tried" to use, it's un-usable. Gotta have one of those, though.

The Digital V3 is one I see popping up on recommendations, but Fabfilter. I’ve got Q3, so...? I dunno. Seems I’m buying just because. I need to buy for a reason. Seems I’m leaning towards an SSL strip. Ive got Consile_E, but not the SSL version.

The Elysia stuff is PA, yeah?
I use the crap outta that Museq. I’d like some Elysia hardware down the road.

...Masterdesk is handy for a quick rough master when the artist wants to leave with something louder than the non-mastered roughs... Unfortunately, they forgot to discount Masterdesk, it's still $299.
I might grap the SPL TD this time. Love the SSL consoles, by the way, I tend to prefer the E Channel.

IMO, Nvelope > TD+. But, at that price, I may have to pick up the SPL anyway.
The Mastering Bundle 1 looks like a good deal. It's Vertigo VSC-2 and four other bx plugs for $29 after voucher. Curious about the consoles, too.

Masterdesk is on sale now for $49. If you still have the bonus voucher then it’s $29

It's got a little different flavor than the UAD SSL or all the others, it's a bit unique. It's got this kind of slightly dark, squishy, thumpy thing that I like, makes things sound pretty wide. Seems like you can drive it a little harder than the usual SSL compressor plugins. You can get it for nine dollars with the coupon posted above.

I went with nvelope for $9. Maybe on the last day they’ll give us yet another discount code and I’ll get something else (seems like something they’d do)

The Vertigo plugins, VSC-2 & VSM-3, are by far my favorites. I also find BX_Refinement super handy. I have bunch of other PA stuff but hardly ever use it.

I've just started to use it. Sort of reminds me of a DBX compressor, which is a good thing. It seems to me to be sort of a cleaner SSL buss compressor. I use it in that capacity. I think that makes 4-5 SSL buss compressor types. I seriously have a problem. I'd be better off limiting myself to fewer plugins. I get way too wrapped up in learning new things instead of learning what I already have. But, it's cheaper that other addictions. I have a friend who has an addiction to muscle cars. Now, that's an expensive addiction. he could die from that. (by his wife's hands)
