Where do you use VSC-2? I've just started to use it. Sort of reminds me of a DBX compressor, which is a good thing. It seems to me to be sort of a cleaner SSL buss compressor. I use it in that capacity. I think that makes 4-5 SSL buss compressor types. I seriously have a problem. I'd be better off limiting myself to fewer plugins. I get way too wrapped up in learning new things instead of learning what I already have. But, it's cheaper that other addictions. I have a friend who has an addiction to muscle cars. Now, that's an expensive addiction. he could die from that. (by his wife's hands) I love it on bass. I also like it on overheads; really pulls forward the nice dark shimmer of my jazz cymbals without getting harsh. I also like it for drums bus for funk or cleaner rock music.

I picked up the bx subsynth, and it's already transformed a mix I was working on where one part of the song has a bass riff on the low E string, and the next part was played high up the neck and wounded like the bottom fell out. Also go the bassdude, but haven't tried it yet.

My first use of subsynth was to get a "doomy" low end on my 5 string bass with a virtual RAT pedal into the bassdude, really effective

I actually have the dbx 510 hardware unit, and I'm getting rid of it now that I've got the bx plug. The plugin sounds the same, but has more features.
Can't wait to try out bassdude, it gets great reviews.

Don’t forget you can switch the EQ’s on the SSL strips You can switch dynamics, not EQs. Or am I missing something? I think I bought the VR version a while back - it’s supposed to model some guys board? Anyway, I was bummed to find out they hadn’t modeled the saturation or something or another...not like I would’ve known it if somebody hadn’t said anything lol...but I never use it.

Yeah that was the first one they did with the whole TMT thing. Right or wrongly they said the board is designed so cleanly that there was nothing audible to model as far as nonlinear stuff. The SSL stuff is quite a bit different though. This is maybe the first console 'drive' effect that my ears kinda buy. You can do it individually or globally. You can also get some cool, classic sounding vibes by allowing the natural noise of the desk and then gating it off, the way engineers have done with the real desk for years.

As per their email:
"We have reset this code for everybody, so you can use it in the next 30 hours, whether you have used it before or not!
Sorry, but no... If you haven't used the code so far, you cannot use the code twice (2x) now."

Yeah, called it, I knew they were going to do that, so today I grabbed SPL Transient Designer Plus to compliment the nvelope plugin I got earlier this week. 👌

Is there a way to load the SSL Channel and cascade them with different channels?

Is there a way to load the SSL Channel and cascade them with different channels? Yes there is a button called ONE to do channels individual you can pick the channel or an ALL button if you have several instances loaded. The ALL button changes all instances randomly to different channels .

Meaning like you couldn’t have one global control for both the E and the G versions?

I believe so I don’t have the E channel only the G But if your emulating two different consoles in a session the channels of the two should not matter if say SSL E is channel 2 on drums and SSl G is on is on channel 2 also and on say bass . Am I thinking right?

Well...this might replace VMR for me. There is this control on all there console emulations ]2 V-Gain The V-Gain simulates the noise typically present in analog circuits, whether it ́s from a Microphone Preamp in higher Gain settings, or an EQ / Dynamics circuit. To get the most realistic analog sound with bx_ console plugins, we recommend you use some noise on all your channels, then use the Expander / Gate to keep the console clean when signals are not present on channels. It makes a difference! 3 THD Adds colorful Saturation and Density (on a per channel basis). The default setting is -60dB. Use higher settings (up to -30 dB) for almost screaming distortion, or dial down the Saturation to -120 dB for ultra-clean channel

Meaning like you couldn’t have one global control for both the E and the G versions? Correct. The E is the E, and the G is the G. The Es can all talk to each other, and the Gs can all talk to each other, but the Es can’t talk to the Gs. Man, that was really weird to type out.
