Try that Elysia Master EQ in m/s...then turn the little screw to adjust the stereo spread. Love it.

Love it. I think of it as a "character compressor" it gets things moving in a cool way.

Ahh dang. I demo'd the Brainworx SSL4000E and like it quite a bit. Yeah after comparing it against the Waves and UA this afternoon, I like the BX SSL 4000E the best of the SSL Channel strips

I love the SSL strip layout and the sound of the real desk, I've just never had passable sonics and workflow in a plug. The Waves layout is there, but it sounds really pinched and flat to me. The Slate EQ is much better but then you have to pair it with the 401, which isn't quite the SSL channel comp and use a separate gate and it doesn't have the LPF and blah blah blah.
This thing sounds beautiful and has the layout and then some. There are some really smart additions with the little screw adjustments. This is gonna be a go-to for me. This and FabFilter as needed will cover a helluva lot of ground for basic sculpting.
I've been wanting to pare down and get away from the endless scrolling of "where's that plug whose low mids I like on picked P-Bass as long as tempo's not too fast and the kick drum is a Gretsch...I know it was in here somewhere..."

Is the brainworx SSL any significant different from Steven Slates take on it?

You should all get Console 1 for your SSL needs I’ve picked up the Townhouse compressor and the SPL valve thing.

I'll see if I can be clearer. The Slate sounds a lot better to me than the Waves. But that's just talking about the EQ because the Slate only has the EQ. You can sort of build something like the full SSL channel strip with VMR but you have to use the FG-401 for dynamics, which isn't totally like the SSL channel dynamics, and their add-on gate. So of the part you can compare (the EQ) I think the Slate is a lot better. But I vastly prefer to have the whole SSL channel strip, the way the Waves does. This is where the Brainworx SSL 4000 comes in. It sounds at least as good as the Slate, but has the whole channel strip layout. I like it a whole lot and will be using it a lot.

Although the demo videos refer to the E/G, there are actually two separate plugs each on sale for $49?
Is there a combo deal on or is that just for their predefined bundles: like Mastering 1?

How often does this site have sales like this on the BX.MasterDesk or Consoles of BX 4000 SSL / Neve for $49 with a voucher for $20 off ? Do they do it often like Waves or more like UA of twice a year in June and Black Friday ?

Do they do it often like Waves or more like UA of twice a year in June and Black Friday ? The past 6 months or so... there have been one or two plugin deals per month, some vouchers. This is the "Big Sale" like the UAD sale. I'm sure there will be another big sale in the typical time of mid winter "black friday"

I did love the Waves SSL Layout but they WUPED me out of using a single bundle.. but it was my bread and butter EQ. I never understood why Steven Slate was not following that layout. I always miss the input trim pot lpf and hpf together etc. The old Waves Bundle did not moddeld the artifacts of the console, but I do remember loving the EQ plus the snappy sounding compressor...

Waves CLA Mix Hub is a pretty darn good SSL channel plugin. Admittedly I've only used it a little but it has all the features and sounds very good.
I haven't got WUPPED yet but I don't know if I should be afraid or not.
Plugin Alliance has none of the drawbacks of UAD, Waves, not even an iLok dongle. It's almost too good of a brand to be true.
