No compression on that snare? Just straight up mic into preamp/console, or just mic>preamp>DAW? I’m interested in drum mic placement and how many mics used also. Thanks

Awesome! You can order now, expect shipping a week or two after NAMM. I guess I’ll start with one! I’m in Spain, any preferred dealer? I tend to order from the UK anyway... . We need a full review! 😁

I know all too well about this. I had a family member that was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma. Unfortunately, he was stage 4 and malignant when we got the news. It’s tough hearing this. It’s unexplainable, and there are really no words that can be said, but that I am sorry. We will continue to pray for your son.

I didn't have time to read this entire thread, however the newer Marshall Origin 50 is getting some good reviews for a whopping $650 for a Marshall amp with useable tone, not bad.

See, now you’re pissed ericn...lol As pissed as one can be after a week in the Bahamas! Oh the hotel had a stupid resort fee of $58 a night total for the 3 of us, well our suite included access to the club room we ate and drank that $58 a night fee! Oh I see, you just take off to the Bahamas without inviting RGOer’s? Lol...nice! I can’t even drive to Nashville for less than that! Now I’m pissed again! Lol

My understanding with VK was they generally advertised that used gear will be serviced (recapped if required etc) which is normally included the original sale price. I ‘assumed’ that either the Neve modules were already serviced or at least would be serviced in a timely manner once I had paid for them. I had no idea, and there was no obvious indication prior to my purchase, that this servicing could take up to three months to complete after I had paid for them and before they would be shipped to Australia. So with shipping I could have been looking at almost a four month delay. I totally understand that something like a console could take many months to service but three months to service two Neve modules seemed excessive even taking into account how busy their service depot may be. When I was told this I was somewhat annoyed and said that I couldn’t wait three months or more (a client had booked a session partly because of these Neves - yeah dumb I know!) as I figured a month would be an adequate time period to service them and ship them. I was then told they could provide a high priority express servicing option (about a week) but this would incur additional charges (I can’t remember the exact figure but it was at least several hundred US dollars). In the end VK capitulated and serviced them within about 10 days and shipped them at no additional charge. The Neves are great but I wish VK had been clearer about their servicing time frames and ‘additional fees’ for servicing them in less than three months before I had paid for them. It felt a little like I was being held to ransom. Either pay up or you’ll get them when you get them. It isn’t funny but maybe Stam got his buisness model from VK? Years ago VK and EBay put most of the used brokers out of buisness. You wanted cheap you bought on EBay and took a huge risk, VK meant it worked and there was somebody to back you up. It was either in stock and ready to go or it wasn’t. We sent them a bunch of buisness simply because it was that simple. I’m just trying to wrap my head around this and feeling pissed that people I have sent their way might have gone through a similar situation. See, now you’re pissed ericn...lol

I want to delete this thread. I guess I got really upset to actually post a negative thread. I just wanted to share my concerns with you guys, now that everything has been finally worked out.

Selling as new. When clearly it had an issue, it wasn't even the right model. They finally replaced the unit with a new unit! But it took a couple months of back and forth. What the craziest thing is, it wasn't even the model I paid for. It was a hybrid, version 1 not completed. Then they sent me a unit that was broken. I think I got a half finished prototype, seriously. Then the new unit wasn't working properly, one of the features didn't even function. Then I finally got one that worked and it didn't need servicing. Due to really liking this product(don't want to publicly shed any bad light on this company) I don't want to say what unit it is because I absolutely love it now that I got one that works. I had to get in touch with the manufacturer outside of VK.

I like the 1962 VOX AC-30 with a good year Les Paul plugged in! Nice solid rock tone! John Waite was in my area last summer. Both his guitarists were playing classic VOX AC-30 amps. Sounded absolutely killer!

My vintage La3a has gone to a new home. It's the last of what was my racks of mixing outboard when I invented "hybrid mixing" (sic)in the 00s after going from all analog to all digital and going "WTF is THIS shit....?" The old 414eb has gone, too. I'm officially a personal songwriting studio now. I want to be a personal songwriting studio!!! One of my H3000's going to a good home this week!

Attachment DeletedThe king of Marshall’s! Need I say more! And yes it can run at 50 watt as well with a switch in the back! Don’t forget Variax mode! Oh, and it does 66, 68, and 66 mod, and 68 mod mode. Nothing like four different tone stacks. Plus Variax! Plexi’s at its best! I just wanted to show some love for a genius amp builder George Metropolis, there is Jim Marshall, and then there is Mr. George Marshall, who takes Marshall to a heavenly place beyond the atmosphere! One more important note...He is only 48 minutes away from me, so, I have to be careful because his designs are insanely good, and you need to hear one vibrating, floating tone, and tickling your ears into guitar exctasy goodness! Beyond oodles of tone goodness! Oh, and one more thing...He also handbuilds your cabs for you to get the goodness from any era! If there is one guy that knows amps and Marshall’s, it’s this guy! One of the top amp dudes in the world!!! I realized that Santa already delivered his massive loads all over the world, but I think we need to make another call to the North Pole because Santa needs to make another delivery to every unfortunate guitar player that has lived and never heard the truth! Have a happy New Year! And if you don’t get your Marshall goodness delivered, then you need to look up George Metropolis and demand a delivery and wall of tone goodness in 2019!
