Goddammit, I've been waiting for someone to do this...I almost don't have a choice but to buy one...however, I think I'll wait until they're actually in stock. For a $100 - $200 savings its not worth it to pre-order...for me. Also, didn't Audioscape hint at a 2254 comp? I might wait and see what they come out with.

Hmmm.... I was looking at getting a pair of LA3A clones to use primarily for bass tracking duties, this may be purchased for that purpose instead. Not to mention use on busses during mixing.

May buy when in stock, if the StamChild is delivered by then and sounding good. $645/channel is a great deal even missing out on the $545/channel intro price. A little surprised there's no sidechain filter/parallel functionality, but authenticity is what it is.

What version of the 33609 is this supposed to be?

The original 69 version: "Our SA-609 strictly follows the original “Metal Knob” schematic with the use of BA440 cards and Sowter-Carnhill transformers that reproduce the characteristics of the original Marinairs used on the initial version."

Damn, wish he would have kept the front plate and buttons of the original. Those later model ones like the ‘C’ always looked very “Star Wars” to me haha
