On the upside, it says "magic mic" maybe it can sound like a 441 or a m88 with the flip of a button... Or just by saying outloud "Abra Kadabra"

That Future Islands track is one of the most moving pop songs I've hear in a while. Indeed, it got stuck in my brain with those first synth chords. Then the vocals kick in and just gets better.

All you need is 3 resistors to form a u-pad to run line in on a mic preamp. Use 4k99's in series and then a 160R shunt and you are golden. This can be built into a Switchcraft xlr tube which I happen to stock at the store. Sorry to be a whore Great! Gonna build a couple too, thanks for sharing jsteiger

Don't forget he's a moderator over at the purple site. I have seen a few negative threads pop up over there only to be scrubbed clean or simply removed. With my sarcasm hat on " Shocking I say truly shocking " That purple site looks more like the unjustice league. Thanks for the heads-up guys.

Seem cool. AFAIK, the older models don't have swappable op amps. Could be wrong though. You're right, searching on their website they say that opamp swap 'plug & play' its only on their new products.

Well I stumbled upon these on Facebook. A Pultec style Midrange EQ (MID500) and a stereo 1176 (77x-500) Not that much info, it seems that now it comes with their "Vintage OPA", would like to know if there's a chance to place other opamps without pulling out the soldering iron. It seems pretty good, haven't played with any Lindell product, but this looks promising. With so many offerings appearing almost every week, there's no way my wallet will enjoy next year.

Yesterday I saw Birdman, which IMO it's a beautiful, joyful movie. The score is almost drum rhythms from Antonio Sanchez, and blew me away. They're placed in exact moments around the movie.
Have you seen it? What are your thoughts around the drum score?

I had the Neve 1073 lb for a night and was really shocked that it sounded so good. Love to shoot that out with the Heritage. I bet there wouldn't be much difference at all. It sounds really good...I sold my Great River, loved it too but didn't like it used two slots. I planned to use the money to purchase two VP28s but had to move my studio...not my cup of tea.

A Revive Audio modded Altec|Lansing 8ch mixer, really good sound. Also a Sony MXP390, really nice EQs and sound. A friend lend me a Neve 500 1073LB, he doesn't use it so...6 months and counting, thinking of buying it I liked it more than the Great River pre. I should AB both. This year I moved the studio twice (dang landlords)...go figure.

One of the most impressive things to me was the echo chamber...Freaking awesome. Whoa! At least try to record something from your cellphone on that chamber, don't care about the quality...just want to hear those tails. Have fun!

Yes, I had it for 2 years. Couldn't sleep until 5am or woke up 3am, like clockwork. As everyone said, it was caused by stress. I tried to workout a couple hours before going to bed, with no success. Also tried reading, playing videogames, silent drum practice, etc...but only got me more hooked up. After several remedies and drugs my doctor gave me some Valeriana pills, it worked just fine. It took 3 months so I could sleep on my own. Maybe you should try some herbal remedies before trying drugs. Last but not least, a psychologist could help you identify somethings you might not be aware of. Take care.

What do you guys think of this stuff? I screwed around with it years ago, and while it was really good, it was a major PITA. How far has it come? I see they have Massive Passive, GML and other emus now. Once I dove into PT's, I kind've moved on from this stuff - but I know lots of people that claim it's the cats meow. I use the Aqua Vox Plug in. Its sound was the next best thing to my 1073 preamp also the structure of the harmonics was very near to the Neve Clone. It is CPU hungry.... but its a sweet little helper on additional software instruments. www.acustica-audio.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=83&Itemid=153Well I'm gonna try that one and the Red EQ...thanks for the headsup MrHolmes.

I mean really? I was looking to see if Sozo was still alive and ran into Cowboy's thread on GS...saw that they ********* it our when you type in Realgearonline. Nice. I will crush them like Ivan Drago. Censorship always gets on my nerves. What's the point? Are they protecting me? What if I want to join the 'dark side'? Are they losing money everytime the 8 byte word 'Realgearonline' appears in their forum? Should I go and tell my parents about this? It's pathetic.

Seriously, besides Carlos Slim and Mexico's first lady, who else buy those cables? My Old Denist when I was a kid, he was such a audiophile, he almost Bought The Cello Co, from Mark Levinson, and when I was 18 I'm sitting in the chair and he asks me if He Should by Avalon Speakers. I'm like witch model, he says " No the Company" His dad was the guy in all the old Menards TV commercials and his cousin is "Greg" on CSI! Whoa! Well, that was quite a visit to the dentist...such an entrepreneur. Nice story ericn. Now I think my post was a little naive. There's someone whose gonna buy 'em and probably buy the company.
