So he's not the first guy to get screwed over by this Ross Martin character? Not by a mile. I barely got mine, with a year wait, and then it was broken when I did get it. Build quality was shoddy at best. That’s just my first hand experience though. Others may have had a different experience. I just saw the long thread over at GS. He's been screwing people since at least 2015. Taking in more orders than you can keep up with is going to bite anyone in the ass at some point. It's inevitable.

That sounds like Ross Martin talk to me. I could be wrong, but if I’m not, then you’re out of luck. Count it as a lesson learned. So he's not the first guy to get screwed over by this Ross Martin character?

I know who it is now but it's not a company I've ever heard of before. I just read their full policies page and based on that alone I'd never do business with them. A company's policies should offer protection to both the consumer and the company. This guy is all about covering his own ass and offering very little consumer protection, even going so far as to say, "We are not responsible for any shipping damages and do not include insurance in the shipping."
Nope. Until any item arrives at my door unharmed, I'm certainly not responsible for its condition.

A refund two years in the making is not likely to ever show up. Expose the guy so that others can choose to avoid him should they wish.

Alrighty - Drums. About 4 db reduction avg, up to 7db on the needle anyways. Ratio 2, attack 10ms, rel .3s. No side chain HPF. To me theres more goo/tone/the UAD thing I hear in several of their plugins, and the hardware is less grabby sounding at the same reductions. A little more presence and clarity, openness, size etc.
The hardware really makes that snare crack and the bass sound a bit more full. It controls the transients without murdering them. Me likey.

I have no idea. I know it won't come with any regret about rewarding bad behavior, so that's something in the plus column. I mean you could carry that viewpoint - that somehow your punishing Stam by not purchasing his mic. And that he deserves it - and never deserves your business. Sure - that’s completely your right - trust me WE GET It. However, I really like the “idea” behind what Josh is doing and would rather go the route you would go with anyone you want to see succeed - and realize that punishing them unendingly is not the answer. Perhaps it’s a generational thing - but ordering from some guy in a foreign country who hand makes some of the best vintage clones for insanely low prices - and having this super weird journey - is actually pretty rad. So is ordering from Chris who is doing something similar here in the states with excellent customer service. But back to your earlier point- since I’ve already had the audisoscape ssl for months and have an SA67 shipping any day - does that mean that I win? Not "could," DO ...I do carry that viewpoint but I said nothing about punishment. I said I choose not to reward bad behavior. If you want me to provide a list with detailed reasons he does not deserve my business, I'll be happy to do so but it won't be anything you haven't from me and some others here. As for you liking what Stam is doing, that's certainly your prerogative. The comment about this being a "generational thing" is a non-sequitur. It's a reach. I have no issue with the country of Chile ...at least none now that Pinochet is dead and the army is no longer kidnapping infants from the poor. Is expecting excellent customer service a "generational thing?" I have no idea what generation you're in, but has your generation decided that excellent customer service is unimportant and disposable? I'm not sure how you "win" at this but I'm pretty sure having a company promise you a piece of gear in three months and still not delivering it nine months later isn't winning ...or in more than two years as in the case of at least one person here. I'm pretty sure that swallowing the lies of a business owner who has no respect for his customers isn't winning. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion and I'm sure Josh appreciates the reacharound.

As far as I know, the SA67 has a Heiserman capsule and premium parts and tube, so how much different would the Heiserman 67 be? I have no idea. I know it won't come with any regret about rewarding bad behavior, so that's something in the plus column.

Indeed. Indeed. I've decided if I go for a 67 it'll be the reissue. Just gotta plan for that kind of purchase. Anyway. Here is to us bus compressing tomorrow with reckless abandon. I've got just the song I am working on for it. Muhahaha. A cartoon theme cover... I'm looking forward to seeing what Heiserman comes up with for a 67. I could be a player depending on how close they get with that one. I can't justify buying the reissue but if Heiserman nails it at $3k or less, I'll probably talk myself into it. I might use the buss compressor on a mastering project I'm going to start in a week or so. It's a 15 song punk album. A buddy of mine did the tracking and mixing. The songs are pretty squashed already so they don't need much comp, but we'll see. That's about all I have time for right now. I'm moving in two months and I need to finish packing and tossing. Depending on how quickly I find a house I want to buy, it will be some months before I get my studio up and running again.

Fedex dropped the ball. Some trouble they were having at a hub and now it's coming tomorrow as they originally told me. You know, I really don't use Fedex anymore for a myriad of reasons. I will just leave it at that.
Yeah, Fedex my favorite either. But at least I'm not waiting on an SA67.

Probably it has been answered before but are these made in China? No. In Chile. Joshua has said he doesn’t want his proprietary design being shared with Chinese factories. For good reason But he's importing parts from China and perhaps other places, isn't he?

Isn't the D-Comp a 2254 style compressor? A V-Comp is absolutely destined for my rack. And that will be the last compressor I buy for a while (famous last words). Well, it is a diode bridge, but I think it's more on the lines of the Zener limiter.
V-Comp is very promising to me. Curious of the differences to the Retro.
Doh! I think I knew that for like 10 minutes and then forgot it because the D-comp was never on my radar while the V-Comp was. The other thing I'm really hoping Chris develops is a Curve Bender clone. He seemed intrigued by the idea when I mentioned it in a thread, and a lot of others seemed to like the idea as well. I'm hoping.

HA! Mine is to arrive Friday. I have relieved you of your joy of anticipation by 24 hours.
I have come to enjoy many flavors of bus comp in the last year in plugin form. I think the most useful one for me has been some iteration of the SSL buss comp. So if I have to have one bus comp, it'll be this one.
However, I would love a 2254 style as well.
I see the V-Comp is coming. Oh my. This is dangerous.

Placed my Buss Compressor order yesterday, got a tracking number today, unit will be here Friday. Such an odd way to run a business. Ugh. Fedex just informed me that the compressor will be here Thursday instead of Friday. Now I have to wait one whole day less. I feel like I'm being gypped out of many months of anticipation and frustration.

I pre-ordered on Black Friday 2017, still waiting... It's only been about 16 1/2 months. I'd guess you're at least halfway there.

Like stam said, it's 3 units in one box. Are you sure it's not one box with 3 units?

A guy gets hit by a car and wakes up to find no one has ever heard a Beatles song. This is a great idea for a movie.

Well...that was a drag. I was logged into my account, and I hit the buy button at exactly 8:00:01 Eastern and it was sold out within two seconds after that. Before I could get to my paypal acct.... It happened the same way with the first batch. I don't see a way to lock in the introductory price on the website but Chris is usually pretty quick to respond to emails, so you might try him at audioscapeaudio@gmail.com. This one wasn't on my want list but the V-comp that will be coming out soon is. I doubt I'll have any more success than you when it drops the first couple of times.

I pulled the trigger on the AS Buss Compressor today. They were out of stock on the website so I shot Chris an email to ask when I could get one. He wrote back and said he just finished two units and put them up on the site. It will ship tomorrow ...drama free.

Josh...always delivers on his products... When talking about Josh, it's best to avoid "delivery" cliches. I let him hold my money for more than 6 months after the original promised delivery time. He didn't deliver.

I own a pair of Audio-Scape Optos and a 76A. I have no concerns about the build quality. My interest is in how a piece of gear sounds and how useful it will be to me. If I have to tighten a nut, so what? I want to get a piece of good gear in my rack ...IN MY RACK. A piece of gear that is promised in April and not delivered until the following March does me no good. I want to deal with an honest builder who delivers on time and doesn't lie to me about delivery dates that get postponed over and over and over and over. When I send my money in for an order, I'd like to at least have some modicum of respect for the person receiving it or, short of that, at least have no reason to disdain that person. There are plenty of good options in the world; there's no reason to reward deception and dishonesty with my business.

Now that some of you have lived with the AS buss compressor for a while, do you feel this is still a solid 2-buss option to mix through?
