I can't speak to the 500 version because I don't own it, but I do own the plugin and the hardware. Both are excellent but they're not exactly the same. With the same settings, the output from the hardware is quite a bit louder than from the plugin. I have no idea what is going on under the hood of the Clariphonic but it's not like anything else I own. When I bought mine, I had just finished mastering a cd (something like 12-14 songs) for a client. I had just sent the finished masters off and the client approved them. Since I had those songs fresh in my head, I tested the Clariphonic on them. The tweaks I made were subtle but nevertheless made those songs better. I went through every song and felt the Clariphonic improved all but one of them. Since the work was already done, I figured I'd give the client the chance to hear them. So I shot her an email and told her I was sending new versions of all but the one song. She went with every Clariphonic version and was blown away by the improvement. Both the box and the plugin are incredibly musical. Both offer a mid-side option which makes the Clariphonic useful for adding width to a mix. The hardware allows for another interesting option... you can run another piece of hardware through the Clariphonic allowing that other hardware to be used in mid-side. I have a pretty nice collection of outboard gear but the Clariphonic, along with the V-Comp, are my favorites by far.

The SDXs/EZXs I want badly are just piling up. This one, Custom Shop, UK Pop...I'll grab all of them before I start this next project. Wait for the Black Friday/Christmas sale and buy them through BestService.com. They always have the best deals on Toontrack stuff, cheaper than anyone else.

Ward, You don't have this, do you? jtc111 , You do, right? Is it as intuitive as the video suggests? I don't have it yet. But I'm seriously considering a major investment into VI and besides piano and strings, this is very very tempting! "Intuitive" depends on the person. It's a fairly complex interface and requires some digging into it before you're going to get what you want. But I think once it's set up to get the vibe you want, it's no more complex than any other vst with articulations. I've only spent a little time with it so far and I really like what it can do. When I can, I'll spend a few hours getting familiar with the GUI and I'm not expecting it to be any harder to figure out than other instruments. The video certainly makes it look easier than it is when you first use it but I suspect some can get to that point. I've never been able to master playing melody and doing key switches at the same time on any vst. My method is to lay down the melody first and add the articulations after. So it will never be as easy as the video for me but if you can already pull that off with other programs, I don't see a reason why you wouldn't be able to do it with this one.

jtc111 isn’t this what you just picked up? Yep. It's far better than any other pedal steel VIs I've heard. I think I've only come across a few over the years. They sounded pretty awful and the GUIs were bad as well. The tutorial video for this one sold me quickly.

I sent them a message on Facebook a few nights back because I also didn't get mailed the links. They answered with a link within an hour, so you might try that. Yup! That's what got me the links. Thanks for all the suggestions. I eventually got it, installed it and am playing with it right now. Interesting concept, and uniquely cool. I'm not sure how much I really "need" it though. Still working with it. Need it longer to really decide. One thing it does well is adjust those freq.'s without adding a bunch of schmutz down in the LF. Clean. I'm leaning towards I don't need it. I don't find the interface very intuitive. It's easy enough to use but I'm not sure I need 5 low end bands. I love their Levels plugin and I find Expose to be helpful ...I'm still playing with this one so we'll see.

Here's my $.02. No great song, which is played by great musicians, is going to be held back from popularity by microphone cables. Until your tracing down some noise and have to figure out which cable it is. That could hold it back by 30 minutes or so. I started out with a whole mess of ProCo cables. Enough of them went bad in the first five or six years that I started replacing them with Mogami/Neutrik cables from Redco. I've yet to have one of those go bad on me and some of them are a decade old by now. I don't know if there's a discernible difference in the sound as I've never tested for it, but there's a discernible difference in quality and I have better things to do with my time than track down bad cables.

This is one of my Warmoth Strats. She's stunning. It's almost enough to make me not detest Strats. Almost, but not quite With her Klein Jazzy Cat pickups, she sounds even better than she looks.

I bounced the whole folder and forgot to delete those ghosty files that happen. The actual wav files are at the bottom.

ragan and jtc111 File is linked above. Let me know if it doesn't work. javamad , thanks for the offer, but I'm hoping to be complete before Sunday. Really appreciate it though. Give me an idea of what kind of sound you're looking for ...bright, dark, close mic-ed, etc... Pianoteq gives me dozens of options.

I haven't built a Warmoth LP but I've built a a couple of Warmoth teles and strats. Their necks and bodies are excellent and they're a good company to deal with. It usually takes a couple of weeks for in stock parts to ship. I've usually gone that route. Only once did I have a neck built to spec and that took a couple of months to ship. My teles and strats feel and play every bit as good as their American Fender counterparts but only cost me about $1100 ($250-$300 of that for the tech who assembled and set them up for me). One of the very cool things they do is post the weight for the bodies so you can build on the light or very light side if that appeals to you.

During the 16 or so years I've been doing this stuff, like most of us, I've bought a ridiculous number of cables. In the beginning my Sweetwater guy sold me plenty of the Pro Co cables they like to push. I have almost none of them left now because for whatever reason they'd go bad on occasion and tracking down a bad cable is a pain in the ass. At some point I started buying cables from Redco. At first the reason was because I could get custom lengths so I didn't have so much loose spaghetti hanging off my gear, but after awhile I realized that while my Pro Co stuff would still go bad on occasion, the Mogami/Neutrik cables I was getting from Redco never did. I don't mess with cheap cables anymore. YMMV.

Here's a link to the V-Comp. It's listed as out of stock right now. Chris sold through his first batch of five in under a minute and probably not much longer than that on the second batch. But anyone that really wants one can write to him via the website. Chris is responsive to emails, will give you an idea of how soon he can have one ready, and will only take your money when your unit is ready to ship. I've gone that route with him a couple of times and never had to wait very long.

I think the M-Audio Hammer 88 is a bargain for the price. I've been very happy with it.

That comp sounds wonderful. I love the way it gives the vocal some attitude. I might have to invest in a nos 6386 just because the thing deserves it.

4000/20 units per day limitation=200 shipping days So assuming you're shipping 6 days a week and not 5, you're saying you've been shipping these for 33 weeks which would put you back to last August if you shipped no other products in the entire period. Now let's look at the 2000 by July scenario. 2000/20 units per day limitation=100 shipping days Again assuming you're shipping 6 days a week and not 5, you'd have to ship only this product from now until the very end of July to meet that prediction. Sorry man, none of this is even remotely believable. Do you have a current preorder in with Stam? Didn’t I see that you got kicked out of the Stam threads on GS for the constant Stam bashing? No offense, just curious. Is Josh talking about the number of orders of ALL products combined since the beginning? Wouldn’t that make more sense? I was responding to what was said. If the information given here was inaccurate or inarticulate, then my numbers are incorrect. I have no problem correcting a mistake if I've made one.
As to the thread on GS, yes, I did get banned from the thread but it was not done by that subforum's moderator. I contacted him and he said he had no idea why I had been banned since no one had reported any of my comments to him. I have my own suspicions about what actually went down there, but I'll wait for some confirmation on that.
But back to what's always been my point, I don't understand why the lying is acceptable to so many of you. Every time he introduces a new product it comes with a blatant lie about a delivery date. As I've said to Josh more than once, if he put realistic delivery dates on his website instead of the constant month by month adjustments that eventually turn 2-3 months in 9 months, a year, and sometimes two years, I'd stop complaining. I suspect he refuses because the lies are important to his bottom line. I get that folks like his gear. The gear has never been my issue. The blatant dishonest bugs the sh*t out of me. Perhaps if I understood why so many people are willing to take the lies and pat the guy on the back, the whole mess would bother me less.
Apologies to those are are annoyed when I post about this subject. My goal isn't to piss off anyone here.

If that's true, the math should make folks nervous since Josh has confirmed the 20 per day shipping limit. 50,000/20=2500 days. Assuming he can ship 6 days a week, it would take more than 8 years to send them all out. I think I remember him saying 5,000, not 50,000. 50,000 was likely a typo. If that's the case, then it would take 42 weeks to ship them all ...assuming he's not shipping anything else during that time.
