Studio economic in Montreal 2 hours away or Longe and mcquade in town. Ideally, I’d like to have one in my studio to directly compare in my current set up.
I have a Myusaddress so could do the Sweetwater try thing but bit of a pain due to driving and customs docs!

AR Chambers is pretty unusable for me. I want to like it but it just sounds weird and cheap every time I put it on. I much prefer the stock Logic reverbs for chambers. Really? For me it was a “shut up and take my money” proposition. So many great sounds to be found. Definitely retro though! Me too. It also has two rooms and the S.T.E.E.D. setup. Apparently, John Lennon's vocal at the beginning of "A Day In The Life" used the STEED with the chamber. It does have a lot of possibilities for sound sculpting.

Running the demo now. I am liking it the more I use it. Two things I never thought I'd see in my lifetime: The Capitol Chambers and the Blues back in the Cup finals.

Btw if you log into your ua account you should have a $100 coupon called CAP so you get an almost 30% discount on release day or you can use that coupon on any over $100 plug in. Kuddos UA! Interesting... mine's only $50. And the "$100 minimum purchase" thing is new.

Maybe it's just for this coupon?

I think Drew clarified above, it’s a $50 for the new Chambers or it can be used on any other $100+ purchase ?

Correct. We thought about doing an intro price for Cap or a coupon just for Cap, but decided to allow users to use it for whatever they wanted provided the total order was over $100

I think this is exceptionally well done...but I’m not sure my usual style of music lends itself to chambers. I’m tending to prefer plates. I reserve the right to change my mind, though.

I really would love to demo the apollo 8XP but alas, in Australia it just doesn't happen.
Cheers

Gee Drew , don’t you need some Oz time to learn how to use a barbie correctly and drink beer like a real man ?

Gee Drew , don’t you need some Oz time to learn how to use a barbie correctly and drink beer like a real man ? Sounds like fun!! FYI, most dealers have 45 day return policies. If they're local, it costs nothing to try an Apollo X, otherwise you might just incur a shipping charge. Our goal is to create such a compelling ecosystem that you HAVE to buy, this plugin is another step toward this goal. BTW, Capitol Chambers has been received exactly as we've hoped, an instant classic. The number of A list mixers etc that are publicly gushing over it is amazing.

Buying is not the problem. I sold all my ua stuff and bought a symphony mkii 16x16 and a bunch of OB stuff,, so would also have to rebuy a bunch of plug ins and maybe another Octo. I know the 10 plug in deal still exists but for me it’s not just buying the interface. I want to directly compare vs my symphony and also decide do I want to drop an X16 into my system ( simplest) or what. I also just retired so want to get my new financial feet underneath me before doing any major gear decisions: enjoy your new apollo!

This guy's demo is in Korean, but if you turn on YouTube's auto-generated translation to English you can follow it pretty well. The song he works with is in English. Sounds like a soulful Americana type tune. He tries out Capitol Chambers on vocals, guitar, and drums. It all sounds really exceptional.
I'm guessing most people who have been mixing at home or in small studios without this sort of service, it's going to take a bit of time to figure out how to approach the reverb compared to a plate or even room/hall. I think the mic placement option is just a bit different. But it might be the only reverb you really need, unless you are doing spacey sound design work.

And since it gives you access to something you'd likely never have access to, it takes some time to "learn it"
