Hey, isn’t that the first line in the great new modern dystopian US novel ?

What I don't get is ,if someone raises an interesting new topic, why don't they just start another thread about it ? Who would come to a thread called Stam goes Retail to discuss the sonic artifacts of polarity differences ? For the same reasons we start life thinking we'll be a fighter pilot and end up giving digital rectal exams in a motel 6 off the interstate instead. Speak for yourself. My rectal exams are all analog. They're still happening in Motel 6's though.

I doubt I would participate in this thread if it stayed on track.. I want to get my stuff before discussing Stam’s retail model or retirement plans.

Im due for another (im that old) That doesn't make you old. They (prostate exams) start at 40. If you AREN'T an idiot, you'll get one annually as a lump is easier to remove than losing your prostate, nards etc. And no amount of STAM goodness is a substitute. (see what I did there, bringing it back on topic)??

Heheh. I paid for my 1073 in FULL a month or two ago and nothin’. Ordered it I don’t know how many months ago. My buddy ordered his 67 a long time ago (like everyone else) and was invoiced/paid in full several months ago and still doesn’t have anything to show for it.
But it’s been hashed to death. Everyone knows the deal.
Seems clear that when you get invoiced doesn’t have much to do with when your product is ready.
But people, thus far, do actually get their products and they mostly love ‘em, so we wait and trust that our money isn’t simply gone.

I am confident gear will eventually show up but, you know, the waiting is the hardest part !

If he were in the US...and there was ONE item not delivered...Well, it wouldn’t be pretty.

If I've paid in full, two weeks is maybe the longest I would be willing to go. Two months is outrageous.

I knew that going in and decided it was something I could live with.

I feel like the wait for it to be built was understood and a given at this point. But to wait for months after paying in full, and when Stam has specifically said that they supposedly don't do the very sort of thing you're describing, I would be raising hell. I know this, the 76ADG and pair of 73eqs I put a deposit down on will be my first and last purchase from Stam. That is, whenever I finally get them....

With the 67 and 47 there were tube issues, according to Joshua. And I believe he’s offered to refund anyone their money while they wait. With my 1073MPA, I have no idea why it’s been several weeks since I paid with no shipment. He doesn’t tell us that stuff. It appears to be par for the course though.

Oh - thought those were in stock...I ordered the 1073EQ in April. I was actually thinking about asking if I could trade for an 2 channel without EQ with the Sowter because they were in stock...I guess they're not. BTW - I might move this to a stam thread.

FWIW - attached is Miguel's (from Stam) post of updated ETA of "when does it ship" from a Stam FB user page. Oddly is says it was updated on the 28th of Oct (tomorrow). Also, I don't know if I remember this right or not, but seems like I remember from one of the Stam threads that when it lists an item "In Stock" I think that may mean items are shipping for the first or next batch waiting by order date but not necessarily for all orders from later dates, which are still on back order.

I’d still love to hear a convincing explanation of why we get invoiced, pay in full and then nothing happens for weeks or months.
I understand that Stam always has these huge delays but why invoice people when their order isn’t ready? I don’t think I’ve seen a credible explanation for that.
And even if it’s just “even though your order isn’t ready, we need the money now”, I might still be ok with it if it were just honestly communicated to us customers.

Last time he came in and said the Dec date for the ADG was a typo. Now it's posted as Dec again. I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm no manufacturer, so I don't know where all the potential delays lie, but how is it that so many other manufacturers manage to sell products without these sort of delays?
I mean, I get that delays happen to most if not all manufacturers at some point, but not ALL of the time. How is it that Stam manages to have delays every single time? How is it that these delays end up being so long? At some point you would think that they would just build that extra time into their delivery schedule since it's apparently the norm and not the exception.
So are the delays because of:
1. Overly optimistic scheduling? 2. A perfect storm of delays that continuously plague Stam like no other company around? 3. Money troubles? 4. A lack of honesty? 5. What?

Anyone selling goods is covered by the interstate Commerce Code that states if anything is back ordered over 30 days the seller must offer a full refund if the customer requests. So you can always ask for a refund if your tired of the wait.
