True story unfortunately. When I do a review I try to be honest but I guess they didn't appreciate it for whatever reason. [...] Yikes! I thought your review was quite well done, FWIW. It seemed like an honest accounting of your experience, but without trashing anyone. I appreciate it as that was definitely the goal!

True story unfortunately. When I do a review I try to be honest but I guess they didn't appreciate it for whatever reason. Great gear though and honestly if it were all in stock I'd probably order one of just about everything they offer. I pre-ordered a ton on Black Friday last year. At the time the story was all of those items would be delivered by March 2018 at the latest and it was going to be the end of preorders as everything would start to be in stock. Here's to hoping it's true this time. That seems awfully petty. Did Josh actually send you an email saying you could no longer preorder? Just like that? Bingo.

Wow And just when I was kicking around ordering an MPA before the prices go up. Thanks for reminding me why I likely won't do anymore business (retail or direct) with Stam going forward.

I’d like to say “I have no words,” but I’m from New York. I have lots of words... I’m just going to keep them to myself for now. But Vincent, if you sing them they will sound sweeter than the Average Yankees fan😁

IMHO increased conversation of "Stam vs. XYZ" generally serves to only increase Stam's busine$$.
seawell's comment made me think, what's next...Now Paul White can't pre-order a Stam product if he makes an unflattering remark in a SOS review?
I highly respect Joshua's products and commitment to excellence-But honestly I plan to wait awhile to consider anything, until his stuff is available later on the used market.

I hope all you guys who have pre-ordered months and even last year get your stuff in prompt fashion.
As for him banning people for non-glowing reviews....well....no comment. Bad and weird reviews are a part of making any kind of gear.

I think he just doesn’t want to bother dealing directly with customers anymore ? So, a retail layer, creates a barrier/buffer and he can focus on designing and building the gear ? Yeah I don't blame him, he was so overwhelmed his customer service started to majorly suffer

Gear4music.com's pricing shows a 40% markup over what we know has pro-user direct pricing.

It’s a real store in the U.K. I’ve bought from them many times.

I just hovered over "available for order" and a little box explains they don't have the item in stock and that they will contact the supplier and order it.

Gear4music.com's pricing shows a 40% markup over what we know has pro-user direct pricing. Which specific products are you looking at? Gear4music showed the MPA at $980, which is more or less the same stock price as on Stam's site.

That seems awfully petty. Did Josh actually send you an email saying you could no longer preorder? Just like that? Bingo. Wow. I understand running a manufacturing business can make you bitter. I've been doing it for 10 years. But that seems excessive and unwarranted. I'd be interested in hearing both sides of the story, but with wait times and now a price hike coming, I can't say Stam interests me much now.

A fellow I Patreon-ize recieved a letter from a manufacturer that he gave a bad review to on his u-tube channel that threaten to sue him to the tune of something like 50k for loss of revenue. He must make another review saying how wrong he was and pull the video or else. He's a great guy and a talented guitar repair person and a bit of a hillbilly...and is totally spooked and hasn't the geld for a lawyer.

Here in Switzerland Gear4 is asking 2x what was offered here...which seems a bit steep...or am I misinformed about the original price of $900°°

Also you need to figure out VAT. I think you can choose USA as the country to see prices in USD without added VAT.

I'm just surprised you guys are surprised. isnt't the whole point of production to get big enough you need distribution?
Also, now they'll need to answer to a few distributors/vendors instead of tens of thousands of angry folks all sending 40 emails a week about their products they ordered the year prior. I get the whole "but I'm not getting replies to my emails", but there's thousands of people also banging out angry emails too, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are getting 2000 emails a week from angry customers, new customers, people with questions, people with feedback, supply chain contacts, etc.
Answering email amounts of this magnitude when each email needs research to find out who the customer is, where their product is, etc, is a full time job in itself.

The new price When was the MPA ever $499? Keep in mind, I've been talking about the two channel version. I don't know what you guys are looking at? The Stam site says $990 USD for the two channel Sowter MPA. That same unit is $980 USD on the Gear4music site.
