Big guy just caught on that people have been prepaying for DIY short runs that have been undercutting official manufacturing..... It's just a matter of time before big guy decides to sell direct for even cheaper... Just watch. Within 5 years is my guess. Brad

Something stinks here. I wouldn't buy one of these from KTBehringer if they were $50. Cool!! Let me know when this happens. I'll buy 10 of em.

Brad No the recording part of the market is a small part of it, install is the big big bucks and the manufacturers know spreading liability is key. That said in the SR do deal direct if your big enough but even then certain dealers can undercut the direct deal, but some manufacturers have better terms. Broadcast was dominated by direct sales but with the growth of desktop video that has changed and companies like RED. The other factor is a large enough dealer can wharehouse enough stock to make life easier for a manufacturer and act as distributor to smaller dealers cutting the cost of sales and support. For a small scale manufacturer like you direct can make a lot of sense Brad but for the big boys no things are very very different !

FYI - for those who ordered from Sweetwater, it's looking like early September...... Mine have shipped from Sweetwater. Cool. Then we'll be expecting a full report ( and clips ) early next week.

Well for the price of one new Pulse you could grab 12 KT's & maybe that's the real question how will the KT compare to say the Lindell 500 pultec or $300 EQ's ? Hell at $300 how's it compare to most TL072 based console EQ's ? I bet somebody could do well makeing a non Behringer faceplate that would make it more respectable 😎 Brad!!!

You could use the front panels as vent panels like I used a bunch of Neutrik $99 bays for a while!😎 Yeah, but you can get great vented panels for $15. Plus (IMO of course), those bays are not even worth using for vent panels. I think instead of buying a Tesla X, I'm going to buy 350 EQP-KT's and line my front wall with them. EVERYTHING goes through two hardwired EQP's at least once before mix. PS - OFF TOPIC - I've never seen so many Tesla X's, Maserati's, and Lamborghini's (along with the requisite and required Porsche's, MB's and R8 Quattro's) in my entire life as I did last week in Newport Beach with my wife. It was almost nauseating. ( almost ) I even almost got T-Boned by a knucklehead X driver who was paying more attention to his gadgets than in driving his car. Good thing it could sense I was in front of it and hit the brakes. So many exotics - it was like being in Monaco or something. High end Tesla's are as common as Camry's in NPB. I think I might need one......gear lust continues and broadens out,,,,,, OK....forget the 300 EQP's, I'm going for the X.....

I bet somebody could do well makeing a non Behringer faceplate that would make it more respectable 😎 Brad!!! I think the KT faceplate looks great. I like it more than the Warm version actually. But I can certainly make your KT Pultec look like a Louder Than Liftoff product if you really wanted. Brad

For a small scale manufacturer like you direct can make a lot of sense Brad but for the big boys no things are very very different ! If Apple can sell its own products direct then surely Behringer can. Even if you don't want to handle logistics yourself, you can certainly outsource that stuff. When I first started my company I had a really sweet setup. My vendor would assembly Chop Shops and then ship them directly to a fulfillment company that was integrated with my online store. When orders came in, they automatically showed up in the fulfillment system and the order was picked, packed, and shipped in hours. I didn't have to life a finger. It was all automated. A company like Behringer could do the same thing. Set up a website to take orders, hire a logistics company for warehousing and fulfillment, and then sit back and collect money. Instead of paying ~30% to dealers they'd pay $2 pick/pack fee per order. Brad

One side is fekkin' blown out, and I had to super glue the penny on the broken stereo link center button... but it does sound good as a mono compressor. I like it on bass the most. Somebody did some bad stuff to this Alesis before I got it, I did some bad stuff to it, it's amazing I still even use it from time to time.

If the KT faceplate is just a single flat plate then it's easily doable. Sometimes companies do custom extrusions for faceplates, which make it way more difficult to replace. If it cost $75 could we get 50 people to buy it? Brad

Harman now Samsung has tried direct with limited product on more than one occasion each time the dealers who are their bread and butter with install and high touch products in both consumer and pro rebelled, direct ended very quickly! Again in pro audio recording is a small part of the market!

I don't mind the faceplate at all. As a matter of fact, I like it better than the warm faceplate. I'm good with it unless you'll sell us all spaceman stickers for $00.50 ea.

I got some cool Mic Rehab stickers from Shannon Rhodes in Nashville, I put one on my subkick and another on my Mackie.
If I had some cool Louder Than Liftoff stickers I'd be perfectly happy to stick them on my future EQP-KT's. ;-D

I at one point or another have had almost every Manufacturer who has ever got slagged on the net, who cares as long as it dose the job!

The slagging only adds to the mystique. I heard so much trash talking about the Behringer and Alesis compressors that I was like, "I have to have these." It only made me want them more.

Sounds like I need to create a new brand where it comes out of the gate with everyone trashing it. Stickers (poly-dome badges) could be made to cover up the KT logo... Brad
