His name is Badger. He's not usually cuddly but he's been getting more so over the years. The pic was a rare case of him wanting to be paid attention to. If a one-legged cat kneads your leg in a forest, does he make any sound?

If a one-legged cat kneads your leg in a forest, does he make any sound? This one didn't meow or purr for years. Completely silent, usually standing in a corner. He's had a rough life. His leg got shot off before I got him and since I adopted him he's had a number of health issues that have taken a while to find solutions for. Since he's now on a special diet and occasional medication he's gained weight and seems much happier. In the last year alone he's decided to ask to play with me and he's now started to chirp and meow for things like food. The adoption place told me he was 3-4 years old but my vet says he was more like 7-8, so now he's probably 10-14.

Badger sounds like a fuckin' CHAMP and you rock for taking care of him. I'm always down for kitty pics/stories. Huge cat guy over here. The new desk looks nice, too.

And good for you, svart and wiz, for giving loving homes to animals who needed them. Our dog of 17 years just died, so Badger caught my eye and prompted me to derail this excellent thread. Back to business: I’m considering shrinking my desk down to a coffee table, and I’ve sold off all but a few pieces of key gear (Aurora Audio GTQCs and my Silver Bullet), so the thread is very relevant to me. Svart, you seem to be going in the opposite direction to maintain the sound you heard with the Alesis in place. Very interesting!

Svart, you seem to be going in the opposite direction to maintain the sound you heard with the Alesia in place. Very interesting! I wouldn't say I'm looking for a sound as much as a feeling. I have to feel productive and to do that I have to feel comfortable. Something about a very small desk really detracted from the comfort even if it didn't have a practical purpose to go larger. I felt constricted. I don't *need* all this desk space for physical work but I find I need it to satisfy something for the psychological or mental work aspect. It needs to feel open and unrestricted, perhaps as a cross-medium analogy/metaphor for being unrestricted in the recording and mixing process. And I'm sorry to hear about your doggo. Pets really are the best of us. So here's another one of Badger after he decided that he wanted some attention while I played video games.

Dogs are family and in their special doggy way: our best friends, sorry for your loss.

Got about half my new patchbay wired up. Well, it's not new, it's the one I used to use for effects sends/returns but I've pulled everything off it and have started to rewire it for straight TRS connections on the cables for the gear.
I'm still contemplating removing one of the three racks and just going back to two. I think I can squeeze everything into two racks if I get rid of a couple things.

guess just focus on making the new workflow work for you. I went from 3 to 1 patchbays and am only using about half of that.
