Had a 2.5 hour Zoom session with my band mates last night instead of the normal Saturday night get-together in the studio. It wasn't the same, but a helluva lot better than nothing. It was fun- the first good time I've had in several weeks. If you're jonesing for face/voice contact, I recommend it. So far, we are all well and still working, which is lucky IMO since I am the only one out of the four of us who can truly hunker down. And suddenly, no job is safe, so it's yet another reason to be thankful.
It's odd, but with everything going on in the world, I'm getting less work done in the studio. I work for a bit and then lose focus and stop. Sign of the times, I guess. My hat is off to those who can concentrate and get things done. And of course, I salute the "new" class of everyday heroes in our midst. But I think it's more likely that they've been heroes all along. Too bad it takes a pandemic to realize it.
Be safe out there!

Yeah I think we are all starting to suffer from ADHD to some extent during this. You would think with the extra time we would all get more done, but it’s quite the opposite.

Not for me Eric. . Hahaaa! Right at the beginning of this mess, I decided to not fixate on the news, take several short walks a day on the trail around our property, and buckle down and MIX. I had 130 songs to mix 7 weeks ago. I got notes on about 13 songs (they wanted vocals, so major re-write), but I turned in one dual album of 30 songs, and I'm about a week away from a second dual album of another 30 songs. I've got another short album done, with the need to write one additional song for it due to the way things got split up. So....for me, really great progress here - almost half way done with the entire mess, and last year I thought I'd be mixing all the way thru summer. I'm hunkering down and not screwing around as much as usual. Doing longer work days - mostly 12 hour days with a few minimal walk, food and internet breaks - and less time fooling around or watching TV/Streaming.

The last three years I’ve worked a job that often required 60+ hour weeks. It will wreak havoc on you physically in multiple ways if you don’t move regularly, get regular sleep, or eat right. I learned the hard way. Don’t burn the candle at both ends.

I'm just hoping the Public, will want to hear more Four Seasons/Bee Gees/Beach Boys style falsetto vocals again... Turns out I can do a mean "Lou Christie" style Falsetto voice! Lemme see (clears throat-"cough cough" "mi mi mi")... "Lightniiinnnng striking agaaaaiiinnn" I suggest minimum 6000 feet social (and hearing) safe distance! Chris P.S. Darn, my reading glasses just got shattered.

Right now, I'm pushing closer to 80, but I do take several 1/4 mile walks around the trail on our property every day, and I've been doing daily doses of yard work. Still work, but completely different than mixing. Still, I will take your advice to heart. <thujmbsup>

I have been writing “children’s songs” and doing videos for my students. I work primarily supporting special ed children who have behavioral and emotional problems. I don’t have a classroom anymore but have 37 kids on my caseload at my school. I wrote one last week called “Out of School Blues” that the district asked permission to put on its social media platforms. I just finished the lyrics and have a rough idea for the music for another one called “Ocean of Emotion” today. The good things is that sappy is good so you don’t have be all Dylanesque or anything. It is keeping me connected with the kids. It’s hard when your job really needs to be face to face and in person.

One of my biggest buzzes of late in Alice Springs, Australia was to play gratis in 3 different rest home venues every fortnight; songs of my childhood ( she was only 16, Danny Boy, Catch a falling Star etc, etc) which resonate with the clients who were in their youthful prime at that time.. It'll be aeons before that happens again me thinks - poor folks. (at least I think they liked me!) Sadly, I'm locked down in New Zealand at my bros without an instrument of any kind right now. Cheers, Ross

Yeah, I hope at least some people change their outlook on life, our so-called social system and our economy. This is Planet Earth's way of telling us that we must change. Get rid of money and power greed. Treat all souls, human, animals and plants, fair. An economy that is built on greed, war, slavery and opression is not sustainable. Some people just see it as an opportunity for more of the same. Yes. And some see that we need a change.

We have 45 cases in my area of Northeast Baltimore, some of them at the assisted living facility 2 blocks over, so I'm now delivery everything. If I can't get it delivered, I don't need it. Thankfully I can get delivery everything in the city, even propane!
I WFH most days, so it wasn't a big shift, I hate looking at all my band equipment and have no band members to play with. I really wish a remote jam thing would work successfully. I remember Jam Kazam, but that doesn't seem to have taken off..

One week later here...still only one death in our county, and 14 more cases. A couple more people in the hospital. No exponential growth - just slow and steady here. Hope it stays that way.

Things appear to be flattening here in Portland, at least at my hospital. Too early to say for sure. we have plans to start up with general surgery again as well as phasing in outpatient procedures. Things are slowly looking better and I'm cautiously optimistic.

I found toilet paper finally the other day. I am going out for bread and beer today. I have major cabin fever and have been mixing super slowly. I’m going to try to rough mix mix at least 2-3 tracks today.

Got a call from a client of mine who had cancelled our scheduled concert due to COVID-19. They asked if I had the equipment to do a short live performance from home...... He he! We ended up settling on a pre-recorded concert, because right now we are without a sitter to watch our rather hyperactive toddler (he's like his dad). Our video premiers on our YouTube channel on Friday April 24th at 7:30PM. I think it came out great!

Got nearly 150 view count just from the premiere. Man was that a lot of work though. Video is live on YouTube now, so it will be a good piece of promo to use as well.
