Everyone is fine, healthwise . . . but 4 kids at home and a severe reduction in the amount of clients and sessions is driving me nuts!!

All good here, family all good.
Busy with work from home, wife is furloughed which is tough but a blessing as she can handle the kids while I work.
Going a bit stir crazy so doing open development on that DIY type 69 and some other IAA projects.

Ok here in Toronto, but still too many out jogging etc. How are things in Oz? That’s not really making the news cycle here. Cheers, Geoff Same prob here in brooklyn you walk down the sidewalk and pause to the side to let people go by if needed especially with kids and then same jerk goes barrelling through with no mask flailing sweat all over you.Btw I grew up in TO great place back then very safe and killer musicians.Left in 87 havent been up in awhile must go up when this is over.I live in a relatively unpopulated part of nyc but have friends in high rises in manhattan and they are feeling pretty tense.Getting on the elavator is no fun.My wife normally works in manahattan but has been remotely working at home for about 3 weeks now. Hoping to archive a bunch of old cassettes finally.Nice idea for a thread Mike

My SO is a nurse, we've split up the house and are keeping a distance which is not much fun. So far we're fine, deep in the CA desert.

Working on overdubs at home in MD, my MacPro2013 took a dump yesterday (video cards again,) the only Mac repair place luckily open, Call and print paperwork, then put your item on a table outside, retreat, then someone in a mask and gloves comes out and takes it in, disinfects it and sends it to Apple. Hoping for a quick turnaround.
Update: Machine went from Maryland to Texas and back in 48 hrs. Replaced both video cards for $600. It's a known issue with these machines, but I'm still impressed with the Apple service and the Mac Medics business in this time of SARS.

Oz has just finished its summer so the virus is not expected to peak until our winter really hits which is June July. Lots of people have already lost there jobs. Govt has stepped into to provide a “living wage” for those. All borders are closed to non essential travel. My sister has just left after 20 years of marriage - domestic violence so with all this going on and the emotional support that it is needed, it is very tiresome, but we still have our health. and i luckily work for the govt and am considered part of the essential service - the Postal network - so i count myself and the family very fortunate. We have been able to help out some friends with groceries and the odd cash donation so hey if anyone really gets stuck shoot me a paypal request and a meal is coming your way.

Staying healthy in Cucamonga, Ca. Low amount of cases and deaths in California's biggest county. Food Stores and take out mostly. Finishing the wiring in the analog control room from the new tracking room. New speaker wires, power cables, Cat 5, Mic inputs into patch bays and console. Raining all this week so I could be able to finish this week after having that room down for awhile.

Doing alright is Central Illinois. I've got some remote drum tracking things for a client. Some possible mix work for another client who can't come down, but is recording at her home. An anual teaching thing is happening in a weird way, but I'll luckily get paid.
My girl work for the university and she's working from home. That's major for us. We're taking walks and sometimes talking to people on their porches while we stay on the sidewalk.
My ex work for a hospital and they are saying our area won't peak until May.
I'm feeling good about our governor, he's been proactive in a way I didn't expect.

Doing OK here in Philly. Been able to get some extra time down in the studio, but miss hosting sessions down in the basement with friends. Over-dubbing and sending tracks back and forth can work...but really only goes so far.
Gonna be one hell of a jam once this is all over.

Doing ok in NY all things considered. We are healthy. Lost a couple of people though. Praying that number stays at just 2. Know a lot of people who have it or have had it. It’s nasty. Being pretty careful. Staying in with the exception of a once a week food run (accompanied by masks, Lysol wipes, and Purell) and taking my son on nature walks. Lots of parks out here on Long Island with plenty of space, so people are keeping their distance pretty well and still getting out. We’re very lucky to have a backyard with a swing set for our hyperactive little man (he’s like his daddy). We lost a bit of work... well, some are being rescheduled, but for next year. I have a lead on a possible client to fund an online concert. Hoping to finalize that soon. Working on some videos too.

All good in Montana.
Still working a lot thankfully. Very grateful for my full time audio job. Had to build a studio at the house but able to still do editing and mixing.
Also grateful for the wide open spaces to wander in during the early moments of spring.

North Dakota is blissfully underestimating how effected we're about to be. Lots o' folks still out doing stupid shit in groups. Over 20% of our state population is designated as "high risk" so all of these unsafe behaviors seem to me to be pretty foolish...but our timeline seems to be about three weeks behind what the coasts are seeing so I'm sure carefree ways will soon pass. Luckily our state is well-equipped with hospital beds but we're a little understaffed. We've had our fourth virus-caused death today and I only see it going up.
Personally I'm in good shape. My wife had an emergency appendectomy on Sunday so that was a fun way to shake up the monotony of being isolated from others. They wouldn't let me into the clinic, then wouldn't let me into the ER when my wife was rushed over, then wouldn't let me into the hospital to visit while she recovered. I understand the reasoning completely but it was definitely a little odd to not be able to visit my wife or talk to a doctor. Surgery went well. She's home and trying to manage the pain. I had to go to a pharmacy and that was a pretty wild scene. The improvised protections for the pharmacy staff were completely brute force but probably quite effective - they hung heavy plastic sheets from the ceiling to the countertop and prescriptions slide out from underneath the plastic after you've paid.
The studio is busy-ish. I have a couple projects that are in the mixing process and a country EP that needs guitar overdubs and vocals then will be edited and mixed. The two people from that group who would potentially come in to do that are both very worried about the virus (one is in an at-risk age group and the other has a housemate who is immunocompromised). They want to come in and do some stuff so I'm going through and doing a series of deep cleans, disinfecting passes, and quarantining to make sure that it's as clean as possible for when we decide to start moving forward with them. I also have the new studio space to work on but I haven't really had the time to do so. When I wrap these mixing projects then I think I'm just going to cut the parachute and move it all into the new space forcing myself to get up and running as quickly as possible.
That was longer than you were all asking for...but a long-winded extrovert like myself is going to have a hard time being brief when my self-isolation practice is in full-effect. Thanks for allowing me to vent!

Here in Connecticut, we are considered a ground zero with respect to the New York City/Tri-state area. So many people commute to New York, and they've brought the virus back into CT. We have incredibly high numbers in the areas where my electrical work normally is. I was lucky to have some bigger jobs which have kept me going, but those are basically finished. Just got a smaller renovation job, in an empty house, which should take me into May/June, but after that, who knows? Everything else construction-wise has pretty much dried up. My wife works for an Insurance company and can work from home if needed. I got sick last week and was scared to death thinking it was the virus, but had to be something else since I never showed symptoms. My wife is a nervous wreck because her daughter is a Nurse up in Albany, New York. We are both in our sixties so are being extra careful. Every day you wake up breathing is a good day. Studio bookings are on hold, just when they were starting to fill up. I am using that down time to finish up some interior trim and ceiling work in the vocal booth.

Everything is well here for us in Queensland Australia.
Oz is a big place, and relatively small population, we have been pretty quick to act and numbers are good... fingers crossed.
My daughter had just moved back in with us, so the three of us are hunkering down... we don't go out except for some exercise, and groceries....
I have just gotten and apollo x and am having fun playing with that.
I also have a new acoustic coming, hopefully tomorrow a Taylor Grand Pacific 327e so I am looking forward to playing that.... taylor had a deal where if I spent another 149AUD (90USD) that I could pick a guitar extra, from a limited choice, I chose a GS mini Rosewood, I already have a GS mini Mahogany and its killer.
I am really glad to hear from everyone...
Cheers

Between the tornado here in Nashville that knocked out power for a week at the studio and COVID-19 I think I’ve tracked 1 actual human in a month. I had a lot of really exciting projects this month that are now postponed until I’ve pretty much busted my ass like most self employed musicians and contractors and now we’re all in stasis, which is hard to adjust to but I know everyone is affected the same way. Well, actually, our govern hasn’t decided if he’s going to actually support the law passed by Congress to allow self employed people to apply for unemployment benefits...so there’s that www.google.com/amp/s/fox17.com/amp/news/local/distributing-unemployment-funds-to-self-employed-guidelines-released-gov-lee-undecided

All good here in Dublin, Ireland. Health-wise that is. We are in a lockdown and only able to go up to 2km from home for exercise and to get food and medicine. Unfortunately my studio is about 15km from the house so I have had to shut it down. I ordered a Stam SA-87 online the day before the lockdown, doh! (it was in stock at an EU supplier) so it arrived after 3 days and now sits in the corner of my room. Painful not to be able to plug it in. I am lucky that my day job allows me to work form home but my plans to do preproduction for an album, some sessions for clients and in general my progress towards moving into music have all been put on the back burner. I really don't know what the landscape from a general economic and music biz perspective are going to look like after all this passes.
Keep safe everybody

No virus in my house in NKY/Cincinnati, but I've really only left for excursions about three times in the past two months or so. I'm going a bit stir crazy. Unemployed right now, and bands I'd been working with are understandably broke. My car has a flat, so this has been tough to work around. Wife works for a construction firm and I worry about her getting sick. Mixing is about the only fun I'm having here.

Doing OK so far here in the Midwest at our place. My sister and her family further south in the state have been dealing with a milder strain of it going through their family while being quarantined at their home the past few weeks. They say they are mostly through it now at their location.
My comparatively tiny problem is still trying to sort a better way to track and use monitor's here at home now that my wife has a communications command center setup to work from home at the same time. So while I'm getting a little tired of using just headphones as I can, we are overall grateful to count our blessings. Hope all of you are and stay safe and sound!
