Dipping into some 90s country.
Houston Kid by Rodney Crowell.
Radney Foster up next.
I kinda gave up on Country for a long time around the time these came out, with a few exceptions.
Cheers, Geoff

Bought by first Nashvegas (sort of I guess-it DOES look like it was done here in town) recording I na LONG time....the new Trisha Yearwood on her own label/imprint. It's wonderful. Not that I like paying $20 for new records, but this was always where it was going. Also, Jude Cole apparently has a new record....EP at least up on Soundcloud--CD gets here tomorrow....but, I've listened to the stream a solid 4-5 times in the last few days. What a talented guy. If you ever want to know where I've stolen everything I am? soundcloud.com/jude-cole-music/sets/in-plain-sightI met him once when he was in town in the late 90s or whenever trying to get songs cut. #kindred

Miles Davis - Bags' Groove.... it's been on the playlist and I keep going back to it for some reason. It's pretty easy listening I guess.
About to listen to the new Tool album as well! Evil Joe Barresi produced, he's one of my favorites.

Just listening to Tool for the first time - Sober and Schism.. Yeah, the players are awesome and the sound is great, but on both tunes the vocal is way too buried in the mix for my tastes.

Yeah Maynard is "peculiar" he gets some flack for standing at the back of the stage during concerts, too. I guess that's "his thing."

Works for Tame Impala though... Chris Just listened to Tame Impala for the first time.. (Let it Happen, The Moment) The vocal may not be much louder in the mix, but it comes across as being much more forward, with a point that cuts cleanly without being at all harsh.

Sometimes I listen late at night to an assortment of you tube tracks I've saved for reference and inspiration. I haven't dug into a new album for a while now.

Every couple years I give Sandinista and Tusk another try. This weekend was Tusk’s turn.
Still nope.
Cheers, Geoff

I love Tusk, LOL. I tend to listen to it in the garage when I'm soldering or building. That band was FUCKED UP. It's sort of hard to listen to but I like the music.

Norman, OK. 27 people in the club. He stood at the front of the stage at that show, but that is his thing - stand, stare and pump fist. Whole show was incredible and Undertow blew them up huge shortly after. Still have the worn sticker on one of my road cases. Great memory of authentic shit happening and you're lucky enough to be there.

I saw a couple up and coming hot bands in their smaller stages (literally, figuratively?) back in my Northwest Florida days. I was very lucky in that sense. I played the same venues as them but I haven't blown up yet. LOL. It's a work in progress. It's a great thing to be a part of, to watch a band rise like some kind of force of nature, to sense it before it happens.
