Anyone know if it comes with presets? Yes. On and off. Here's another good one this yearIt's in German, but you'll get the drift. This one has great presets. Our German friends here will certainly love the last setting

I can tell you about Australia. Anything (including shipping) that is over 1000AUD australian, around 750USD today, is subject to import fees... and thus would require brokerage. cheers Wiz Lucky you. Anything over 40 Euros is taxed in Germany. Even the shipping costs are taxed. Absolutely nothing slips under the radar. And it's not only customs duty and TVA, no, you also have to pay a EU tax. All in all, it's about 25% on top of the sales price.

I agree. GEMA has its faults, but it works. BMI/ASCAP was not even able to collect my money due from US airplay because the students they employ to monitor radio didn't do their job. Then RCA refused to give them the number for physical sales. Pathetic.

Of course not. But it keeps low lifes away from your wife and kids. And that was the whole point. Personally, my family's more important than "stuff". If you want "saving" - get yourself a commercial property with a 10' high chain link fence with helical razor wire at the top, a .45 velcro'd under the console with a shotgun in the office, a pittbull - or two - on the property inside the fence perimeter, keep an intern or 2nd there when you're not, and install a killer alarm system with CCTV and iPhone notification. That will go a long ways towards making things more difficult to get at. If anyone asks all my gear is at 1600 Pennsylvania AVE NW Washington DC 20500 We have pretty good security😎 I believe the crooks are already in there...

Big fan here. Given my age, I was late to the Val party. Her 1996 record she recorded at Groovemasters was my introduction. I think I posted that a few years ago, after stumbling onto some old records, my musical diet was Valerie's three records and The Pages three from the same period. It's nice to know that the best music of an era not being a big hit predates my generation. Check out her 70s recordings. Produced and engineered by people like George Massenburg or James Newton-Howard. Featuring Jeff Porcaro, Chuck Rainey, Verdine White, Lowell George... the list goes on and on. Great stuff and totally underrated.

The speed control being linked to the sustain pedal is bad form--no organist plays the expression with his left foot--that's not how it works....I imagine that was added by Apple. I can highly recommend Jamie!

But while you wait for another 6 months, you might as well wait for yet another 6 months, there will certainly be an upgrade available. But wait, if you wait for yet another 6 months... How do you get on with the Clariphonic - is it strange to set up? My only gripe with the Clariphonic is that it's not stepped. Huge PITA for me when trying to do recalls. I borrowed one for a while and loved it but never purchased one because of this. True, but I don't let that bother me. Use your ears.

If the way my tracks sound after tracking with the Warm EQP-1A is an indication, I'd like to try two EQP-1A's as the final mix EQ. When I had my analogue studio, there was almost never any need for EQ. The board gave you what you needed and the outboard for the final mix was mainly a little DBX compression, and occasionally an Aphex Aural Exciter. If memory serves, I had a graphic equalizer in the chain, but it was set up to balance the room, not for tone changing of any kind. I have a matched pair of them. They work well on the low end, for aligning it. That old PULTEC trick of cutting and boosting the same low-end frequency by the same amount. It works. That's what I do with the Retro. I never cut it by the same amount, though, gotta try it.

Retro 2A3 and Clariphonic on the mixbus How do you get on with the Clariphonic - is it strange to set up? No, I set it by ear. And then I dial it back because it's so easy to overdo it. But that's mainly because the top end is so smooth, no harshness at all. You hear it when you come back to the mix the next day
